This is a live recording of the anthem from Evensong at Truro Cathedral on 19th March 2013, "O Lord, rebuke me not" by Purcell. The treble duet is sung by two Head Choristers in their final year with the cathedral choir. The choir is directed from the chamber organ by Christopher Gray. 

O Lord, rebuke me not in thine indignation, neither chasten me in thy heavy displeasure. 
Have mercy upon me, O Lord, for I am weak; O Lord, heal me, for my bones are vexed. 
My soul also is sore troubled: but, Lord, how long wilt thou punish me? 
Turn thee, O Lord, and deliver my soul: O, save me, for thy mercy’s sake.

This file uses binaural encoding: it is meant to be played back on headphones.

For people familiar with Ambisonics: since my stochastic panners are horizontal only, I actually used the horizontal "V" channel of the 2nd order as a stand-in for the 1st order vertical "Z" channel. I don't know how well this height information translates to binaural, but it did make some nice moving color blobs in the Harpex-B interface while it was converting the B-Format to binaural...

The Audio Units plug-ins used for live performance and responsible for random routing, processing and spatialization were built with SonicBirth. The live performance is done in Plogue Bidule.

The 1st order B-Format file out of Bidule was converted to binaural in Nuendo using the Harpex-B decoder with the "Kemar 1" HRTF set and the "diffuse" EQ setting. Conversion to FLAC was done with XLD.

This album reveals the rich soundscape of the Boreal and Acadian forests of Eastern Canada during the Northern Spring.

Recorded in two specially chosen locations, it takes us to the forested shorelines of Ayers Lake in New Brunswick, and Abraham Lake in Nova Scotia - both treasured locations by many who love the natural world.

The sounds come from a collection all recorded on location and feature many of the amphibians and migrant tropical birds to be heard in these places.
