2018 saw the rise of a collaboration between Colah Colah (Kingston / Jamaica) and Peace
Development Crew (Hannover / Germany), after Moritz, leader of the Peace Development
Crew, was looking for a singer in Kingston who wanted to do a collaboration with the
German reggae band. The idea came after a reasoning between Moritz and the promoter
of the Masala Worldbeat Festival, who pointed out the fact, that Kingston and Hannover
are both UNESCO Cities of Music. Dutch selector and promoter Linton then made the link
with Colah Colah.
After a while of contact they manifested the idea to record an EP called “Reggae Music
Oneness”. Therefore Colah Colah sung lines on the phone and Moritz created the music to
these jams. Later on a band exchange between Kingston and Hannover has been
organized. In February 2019 the Peace Development Crew has been in Jamaica, played
concerts and interacted with the local music students at Edna Manley School, while
staying with Colah Colah. In return Colah Colah and Notis Heavyweight Rockaz came to
Hannover in May to perform at the Masala Festival.
“Reggae Music Oneness” is the first single from this EP and it‘s about togetherness, that
reggae music brings. Like the Jamaican minister of culture, Olivia Grange, mentioned,
reggae music has become a global music, and it is officially a world heritage since 2018.

The are made by the jamaican Colah Colah and the music is made by Mystical Mo from the Peace
Development Crew out of Germany.

Colah and Peace Development Crew.

(Germany) & Colah Colah (Jamaica) called “Reggae Music Oneness“.
It is an utopia for a rasta nation that could be build by the righteous people to create a
nation with more social justice, culture, and harmony with the nature. It‘s also not
necessarily a physically world, but could already exist but more invisible in a world full of
injustice, racism and capitalism.
The riddim is built inna rub a dub style with some dub effects and many instruments like
saxophone, trombone, organ, rhodes, guitar, bass, percussion, drums, and vocals. It is
inspired by music of Sly & Robbie like the Revolution Riddim or some modern roots
productions like Rootsman Riddim by Gregory Morris (Chronixx, Protoje...).

Die Reggae/Dancehall-Band aus Hannover sorgt für fette Grooves, tiefen Bass und gute Vibes, so daß die Dancehall kocht.
Als Vorband von Rebellion the Recaller, Jamaram, Skatalites, Mono und Nikitaman uva. war die Band u.a. auf dem Fährmannsfest, Weedbeat Festival etc zu hören. Seit 2005 ist die Band aktiv und veröffentlichte 2010 das Album „Inner Journey“. Momentan feilt die Band an vielen neuen Stücken, um demnächst ein neues Album zu veröffentlichen.
Wie der Name der Band unschwer zu erkennen gibt, setzt sich die Band in den Texten für Frieden ein, wobei aber auch alltägliche Themen und Party genug Platz im Programm der Peace Development Crew haben.
