Free Shelter invites the New York City Sonic, @tape_hisss, for the 21st installment of their guest mix series on IDA Radio. 

Hailing from the city that never sleeps, Tape Hiss can most often be seen playing at the infamous Bossa Nova Civic Club in his hometown. His own productions can be described as "2 korgs 3 rolands and a yamaha meet the rockers uptown". If we want to be more specific, the sound ranges from emotionally driven club tracks to lush sonic landscapes of the realms of the unreal. 

With a recent release on the Helsinki local label @echocentricrecords, we kindly invite the man himself for an hour of blissful sounds which he describes in his own words as "A blend of new and old material from myself, some new tracks I've been enjoying and some neo classics as well. Emotional dance music for a world in flux".

After a summer break, the Polychrome Radio is back with one of Helsinki’s electronic music scene mainstay Ben Staba - @stennabb 

We met through our brother Otso Raisanen during one of our events in Amsterdam and immediately connected, sharing the same laid back but uncompromising vision of music. Anton is one of those artists that are key to making underground music scenes live, silently shaping it through meaningful connections, an eclectic and open minded perspective, and the willingness to constantly explore and push boundaries. 

Helsinki has been his playground, the city being creatively enabling and musically on the right edge. With performances in its audiophiles and dancers temples Post Bar and Kaiku  just to name a few, Anton is also a regular guest on IDA Helsinki digital frequencies where he shares his beautiful collection of records. A member of the Skooge Records crew , Anton has been organizing different types of events ranging from after-hours techno parties to organic and ambient listening get togethers. 

Anton offered us a wonderful recording. Navigating from very deep, breaky electronics with trippy and acid synths to flirting with minimal, deep bass lines and soft lush pads. All while keeping it groovy. 

Listen closely to the first track, one that he wrote, exploring the depth of downtempo music. And it makes us long for more.

@lindsay-bailey came to the Portland scene years ago with an already impressive background in organizing events for the dance music community in Chicago, including studying under the wings of The Black Madonna for a time.

Since then, Lindsay Bailey has become a staple in the Portland scene, evidenced by their residency with Spend the Night established last year, and their new Night Service project aimed at intentionally creating space for celebration and expression throughout the city, just to name a few.

Over the last year through their sets alongside the likes of AK Sports, Sepehr, Shanti Celeste, and Batu, Leeonn has demonstrated a deep and versatile understanding of the club.

And yet, whether you find Bailey behind the decks, tending to the club's atmosphere, or simply on the dance floor, their presence in the community is invaluable.

Peace Portal began as a way to document the sounds of the growing dance music scene in the Pacific Northwest from the small but noisy town of Bellingham, Washington.
