"SUMMONING OF INFERNAL LEGIONS" is now available again 16 years after it's initial vinyl release in all it's Barbaric Glory. This release shows the band in it's primordial state when they injected an eerie melodic element into their extremely harsh and aggressive music. BLACK WITCHERY's releases are considered by many to be the most grim and hateful music ever to emerge from the US underground. Dark Horizon Records was at the forefront when we signed this cutting edge prolific Blackened War Metal band in 1997. Where were you then? Norwegian duo Darkthrone return with their first new studio material since 2013’s triumphant ‘The Underground Resistance’; the album becoming the band’s most successful release in recent years. A new heavy metal odyssey now awaits as Fenriz and Nocturno Culto once more show their mastery of “the riff”, demonstrating why Darkthrone remain one of the most respected and enduring acts in the history of extreme metal.

An eclectic mix of free-spirited 80’s fuelled blackened heavy metal, all executed in Darkthrone's trademark raw & organic style, ‘Arctic Thunder’ was recorded & produced by the band themselves, with the sessions conducted at Darkthrone’s old rehearsal unit, "The Bomb Shelter", which they had originally used between 1988-1990. 

With themes based around hate, contempt, & the inner mind & soul, & with the notable presence of Nocturno Culto on vocal duties across all songs for the first time in recent years, 'Arctic Thunder' retains a grim atmosphere, with a healthy dose of raw black metal inspired riffing permeating the album's 8 tracks.

Mastering is once again handled by Jack Control at Enormous Door.

Darkthrone began in the late 80's as a thrash/death metal act & progressed through technical death/doom metal experimentation to become legends of the black metal world & one of the original leading bands of the Norwegian scene, as well as inspiring a whole generation of metal bands.

The plague still billows hollowly after all these years and still destroys all hope, illusions and beliefs. GOATBLOOD, a German Black/Death Metal Combo who show some Doom influences, impressingly demonstrate on their first demo that there’s still enough flesh to rot on the corpse of Black Metal. Slow and fouling songs with deep growls and remarkable riffs cut through every positive perspective.

The demo is a transparent pro-cassette, limited to 200 copies (2nd Edition). If you like VON, FAUSTCOVEN or BLASPHEMY, you’ll be satisfied with this one.
