Back once again with the Body Action Music!One of our personal favorite imprints out right now, BAM is a home to “no-nonsense releases,” “mastered loud,” “DJ-focused, functional records made for having fun on the dance floor,” “lovingly delivered by the crew at YAM Records” with a promise that “every release will have at least one track that bangs.” That was certainly true for 2019’s modern classic BAM001 12” from Human Resources and last year’s Bolting Bits premiered rave-focused outing from Kyoto favorites Stones Taro. Enter London-based producer and resident of Surrey-based party/label Presha 95Bones who affinity for that sort of “Chunky But Funky,” “high energy beats with charisma and groove” is evident on the five absolutely banging tracks on BAM003.

Mr. Bones is a stand-out alumni of both new gen Bristol-based UK Bass outfit Scuffed Recordings and last year’s fantastic ON​+​ON​+​ON compilations from London rave outfit GODDEZZ. There’s no half-stepping here as 95Bones channels a year of pent-up pandemic-driven dance energy into each and every track from the off-to-the-races old school Funky Drummer breaks acid of “Bayonet Cap” to today’s Bolting bits premiered Chicago Jack via British bass floor burner “Queen Romey” with its accompanying video treatment. 

Take the itchy shuffle of “ Bugs on the Floor” as it passes through playfully anxious dub on its way to a near-certain drop which comes almost exactly when called save for a small half-second stutter where all the air gets sucked out of the room like a Max Martin production just before the chorus. These brilliant bits of small detail work are the talented South London producer’s bread and butter (that and endless arrays of electro acid currents that could make a dead man move.)

More than glad to see that “in recognition of the influence of LGBTQ+ culture on contemporary dance music,” and this record no doubt — 25% of proceeds from this release will be donated to Stonewall Housing; a UK based organization that has “helped tens of thousands of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT+) people to find safe and secure homes.”

Haŵs Party Vol. 2 is a record of soulful, introspective tracks, as though you’ve suddenly become alone on the dance-floor and you turn inwards to explore. Whilst Haŵs Party Vol. 1 took an interstellar road-trip into space, the sophomore release takes a more drawn-out, lengthy cruise into the internalised, cerebral soundscapes of dance music. Wading through the borders between electro, breaks, acid and house, the second instalment from the Cardiff-based label and event promoters travels through uncharted regions of the sprawling atlas of music via another catalogue of exceptional names.
Jad & The’s honey-eyed electro opener ‘Digital Daintree’ is as groove-inducing as it is impassioned – a compact knit of synths, pads and rainforest samples that has no problem in stirring the creative hemisphere of the mind. The glossy interweave is torn apart swiftly, however, by the subsequent track; Dan Only’s ‘Pointless Melody’ is far from purposeless, but impishly bolts between weighty breaks and a greedy acidity that is tempered down by the dainty melody peering through the crevices. The final track on the A-side, ‘Hometurf’, comes from Aleksandir, who projects his lightheaded, wistful sound into warm breakbeats and a soaring repository of arpeggios that’ll have you ceaselessly yearning for some forgotten memory that you assumed had been lost forever.
Harry Griffiths’ ‘Llyn’ ushers away the breaks and replaces them with sun-dappled arrangements of chords and incandescent melodies that flutter like the hypnagogic visions that occur just before you dream. Carlo’s ‘White Lies’ takes the groove deeper than the fissures of the brain. Deliciously raw, balmy and with a frisky bassline, it’s a deep house track that gets back to the pure state of jamming through a wash of live samples from his collaborator, Nikoss. Does the past or future exist, or are we in the perpetual now? The existential rumination is carried gently back to reality with Sandboards rounding up proceedings. A placid coaxing out of the six-track reverie, ‘Japan Pt. 2’ scoops you up in nostalgic bells, pacifying drums and purring basslines until you’re ready to wake up.
It’s an internal excursion for all. Close your eyes, let the motions of your mind plunge deep into your soul, and have your body do the talking.

With Solar Return EP, Bristol-based artist, Jon Chmielewski, who goes by the alias Zobol, continues to refine his space age-y, sci-fi leaning approach to dance music. Across three sprawling tracks, Zobol takes listeners on a voyage through distant, expansive, awe-inspiring soundscapes. 
	Opening track, “Rings of Saturn (Fading),” is a sonic portal into another dimension, one seemingly unbothered by the ordinary rules and logic of space and time. The track illustrates what it might feel like for one’s body, or a substance of some kind, to undergo a form of transmutation. Beginning with a skeletal kick-drum pattern, it quickly evolves with glistening synth arpeggios, atmospheric, reverberating keys, undulating bass, and squelchy acid hits. It’s almost as if the track takes on a life of its own as it continues mutating into a surprisingly graceful, multi-tiered organism with every new break. 
	Dropping on July 31st via Birmingham-based Erbium Records, this track is refreshingly organic and tuneful, while still retaining a mechanized, heady approach. While Zobol’s work here might not be exactly humanist, it certainly has a mercurial, exploratory quality to it that feels very much the work of someone who is tirelessly searching for new, inventive ways of synthesizing machine-made sounds for the dancefloor.

This Is Our Time welcomes Aspetuck from the US to their label family with 'The Time Capsule Experiment' EP. His three original tracks are ranging from house, breakbeat to electro but all of them come with a nice twist. The EP comes with two remixes. Jeigo's rethinking of the title track is a meetup of two worlds: an aerial stomper for closing your set in the early morning hours.

DD4 inaugurates the new London-based label, Love Bizarre with his debut release featuring four original cuts on an EP entitled 'Till Dawn'.

Originally from Zurich now residing in Dundee Scotland, DD4 initially discovered a love and passion for electronic music as a teenager following record labels like Defected and Hot Creations. With influence from these labels and Glasgow on his doorstep providing access to clubs like The Arches, Sub-Club and SWG3, it wasn't long before DD4's tracks started to resonate with the feelings and moments experienced in those club settings. Touching on anything from upbeat  house tracks to dark club techno, and everything in between.

'Till Dawn' sees the launch of Michael Gray and John Becker's open-format record label, Love Bizarre who look to provide a creative platform for their artists across various genres.

Opening the EP in style, title cut 'Till Dawn' deploys breaky rhythms, sparkling melodies and uplifting pads that undulate beneath. Up next, 'Miasma' introduces resounding kicks and powerful synths, whilst 'Self Isolation' brings the euphoric energy through angelic pads, intricate chords and shimmering tones that combine
superbly. Rounding off proceedings in vibrant fashion, 'Feeling Forgotten' delightfully fuses beaming low frequencies, enrapturing leads and choppy vocals keeping you enticed throughout.

The EP features a free download 'Rave', a jacking club track with fizzing drums and powerful melodic tones.
