I'm an aspiring filmmaker and audio engineer.

Since childhood, I've always been a stickler for getting the best possible quality picture and sound out of my movies, especially sound.  I'm the same way when it comes to my music as well.

Most modern mixes abuse dynamic range compression, making mixes that are distorted, overly loud and very hard on the ears.  So I prefer to mix my own.

I found this great site called Mixing Secrets Multitracks where you can download the multitrack session recordings from a plethora of known and unknown artists from around the world to download and mix yourself.

That's where I get most of the music I listen to nowadays.  When I find a song I like I can download it, mix it and get it to sound exactly the way I want it to, and without all that horrible compression distortion.

This is just a hobby for me for now, but I hope some day that all this music I've mixed will work as a portfolio to get me into film and audio production full time.  I figured uploading my mixes to Soundcloud is a great way to build that portfolio. :)
