Appearing for the first time on our platform, small and promising Stuttgart-based label Constant Change, run by local hero Jakob Mäder, releases its second installment by Jakob himself: “Remember EP – The Remixes” is the continuation of the story that began to be told in “Remember EP”. The four well-crafted originals received interesting interpretations made with love by Johannes Albert, Brian Ring, Banali, and Markus Phillip, turning the release into a must-have for the fans of high-quality House Music out there.

Markus Phillip, the mastermind behind the remix we were given to premiere/review, whose guilty pleasure for analogue synthesizers manifests in his debut remix of "Nights At Home" (a title that reminds us of the tough times we have been currently living in), brought a little Disco Music, one of his many an influence, to the party. The Munich-based DJ and producer is always up for real Disco, 80s-inspired dance music, and true House, an eclectic artist who cannot resist the good vibes of the golden ol’ times.

Petrvs - Reeperbahn Simulator [KASA OBAKE]

Providing his debut for Ransom Note Records offshoot Insult To Injury, our fellow Amsterdammer and ECHOBOX radio DJ Oneven (a.k.a. Andrew Visser) offers up five pieces of electronic meatiness for our ravenous consumption. As a duel British/Dutch citizen, his electronic music heritage is strong and he draws on early IDM / Braindance methods to create a unique, trademark sound. With a huge passion for hardware, Oneven tries to keep the music as organic and honest as possible, mistakes and all.

Lead single (and synth master class) VM1S2RM springs out of the trap first, hurtling along at breakneck pace, peppered with curious bleeps, noises and percussion stabs, this IDM monster leaves little breathing room. Next up, M52t5, comes down a few gears and treats us to some laid back, electro tinged 808 beats and beautifully ethereal chords over the industrial, Kraftwerk-esque synth lines.

brrytmt takes us into another world completely, tugging at the heartstrings with its expressive, lofi chords, rolling over the top of some beautifully heavy, distorted beats. Tissue continues in that vein, more subdued machine sounds are juxtaposed to the frantic 707 rhythms and repeating vocal edit, conjuring up an eerily stunning scene.

Rounding off, we’re treated to more stirring, processed sounds with Dlaciebie. A sparse and precise piece of automaton music that invokes a certain sadness, proving once and for all that, machines do indeed have emotions…

Meant now offers up two new original cuts from Maxime & Remain complete with a stellar remix package from Kasper Bjorke, Remain, Johnson and Jackethat & Lipelis.
Meant label boss Remain pairs up once again with Brooklyn based Maxime for this latest release. The duo have previously released on Meant as well as the highly respected Throne of Blood imprint. Their cultured sound is finely crafted, synth lead and noir in tone, and this new EP is another fine outing for the pair.
‘Lost It’ is a dark disco cut with steely synths, pixelated melodies and a cute sense of metropolitan funk. An arpeggiated bassline drives the whole thing along and alien vocals add that abstract air. Danish man and HFN Music regular Kasper Bjorke is first to remix and does so subtly, layering in more compelling drums and upping the watery, melodic aspect of the track. For their part, Jackethat & Lipelis flip the track into a more overtly disco groover with slithering and withering synths, explosive drums and plenty of wonky lines.
Then comes the next original, ‘Cold Feet’. This one is a flabby, purposeful and slo-motion disco cut with wobbly arps, chugging drums and slapping percussion that all make you want to get up and move.
For the digital exclusives, Remain then goes it alone on his ‘Indie Version’ of ‘Lost It’, stripping it back and instead placing the focus on tough synth lines and stiff drum patterns. Lastly, Belgian producer Johnson remixes the title track into a predatory, crawling number with well poised synth stabs, stuttering bass and plenty of freeform lines that all jangle around the well rooted groove.
This is an expansive package that covers lost of lush dark disco ground with plenty of flair.

The source of the new Dunkeltier edit (this moniker I use for the dark ones) has seen a re-release on the 'Tecnodelia · Tendencias (1980-1981)' LP on the Domestica label from Barcelona. The band itself emerged from the Valencian underground in the mid-80s.

TODOTODO was a Technorchestra which emerged on the music stage at the beginning of the eighties, just when Techno movement was the dominant one in the European music framework. 
Although its influences were much wider, the three members in TT were absolutely committed to the contemporarity of Techno music language and its possibilities. Every third of the trio was, in itself, an open door towards creativity and each one was concerned with a different view of the same reality, to which, through different ways, they wanted to reach all together with every song they wrote. 'Nativa' is the most likely track to dance to from the album - so it was due to be edited.
The Domestica remaster was quite agressive in the mid-range and the original arrangement of 'Nativa' gave little time for DJ's and dancers to indulge into the heavy groovy bassline. This was adjusted. 
And finally - just before the upload - I also EQed the (sub)bass to my taste. Less pumped, more authentic (808 action), proper sub.

Todotodo - Nativa (SNEAKERS DUNKELTIER EDIT)

TodoTodo had a short existence. Two years to be exact with the three man group having been active from 1980 till1981. Despite their ephemeral life, the band produced cutting edge wave that pushed the boundaries of their own machines and their audience’s expectations.
 
Almost forty years later Frigio is bringing  some of their music to a fresh audience. Juanpablo with his extended edit of “Digital Dancer.” A steady kick tethers a tripping mechanical melody, a melody that bubbles and simmers as toms, horns and daring funk collide for this seven minute odyssey into the world of Iberian underground synth. The original version from 81 closes the A, a brief and brilliant piece of proto-techno. The flip is introduced by Catalan Dj, journalist and author of ¡Bacalao! Historia Oral de la Música de Baile en Valencia, Luis Costa. Costa re-imagines “Autogas” with his Tool Edit, reshaping the off-kilter keys and future highways and byways of the original. The finale is a true treasure from the annals of time. A live version of “Autogas” from the legendary Rock’Ola club in Madrid, an unreleased work that is as audacious and bold as it was when it was first performed in 1981.

Special edition pressed on clear vinyl and high quality thick paper sleeve. Comes with printed inner sleeve which includes a special text written by Luis Costa about the band.

Hungarian label Secret Fusion is back with a new EP from Mufti, while David Kochs and Secret Factory serve up remixes.
Mufti a project from Bernardo Barrera of Guadalajara, this moniker comes after him being a part of Los Fugazzi and finds him focus more on rock variants and 80's music. His originals are a bit different this time, but you can recognise his own "dark disco" machine sounds, vocoders and a building sense of tension that is futuristic and shadowy.
David Kochs from Augsburg Germany is already on his way to the top, with supporters like Solomun. His remix remained faithful to the original, and added his trademark sound to it.
Lastly, label heads Secret Factory draw on all their years of know-how to offer up their own sizzling and unique Cosmic remix.
