BIO:

Pedro Sanmartín A.K.A. Basic Shape was born in Barcelona in 1981 and has always seen art and later music as a way of inhabiting the world. 
His background in Fine Arts led him naturally into music production and vinyl mixing, not as performance, but as craft and method.

He began his professional DJ career in 2005 after a period immersed into the club culture of Germany, which felt less like a scene and more like a way of moving through life. 
Since then, he has shaped a sober, attentive sound, somewhere between the spaces of house and techno and electro that few explore with ease.


His productions have been released on labels such as Seven Villas, Everything Will Be Ok, Loot Recordings, Univack,Tronic and Tenampa to name a few and have found their way into the playlists of artists like Hernán Cattáneo, Pablo Bolívar, Christian Smith, and Danny Howells. 
In 2020, he released on Seven Villas Music his debut  album "Unfolding Nature," a record that avoids clichés in favor of simplicity and essence.


Pedro has collaborated with platforms like Ibiza Global Radio,Ibiza Sonica, Deepersounds, and British Airways, and has performed live and DJ sets at events such as the Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) or Electro Beach and at venues like Nitsa Club, Razzmatazz, Insomnia, and Culture Box name a few, sharing lineups with artists like Guy J, Rrose, Pablo Bolívar, and Nhar.


A prolific producer and DJ, Pedro Sanmartín has carved his own signature sound within the electronic global landscape: a deep, emotive, and hypnotic form of house, techno and electro that resists shortcuts and spectacle. His music unfolds quietly, offering those who listen a rare space shaped by patience, depth, and slow revelation.
