The recording from my set supporting Dave Seaman at the afterparty for Hernan Cattaneo, Eelke Kleijn and Dave Seaman in Sydney on September 30 2023. 
Taking over from Dave at 1am, this drives straight into a hypnotic progressive style which builds and peaks, then moves into a deep late-night vibe before closing out with a second progressive peak. 
I had a huge amount of fun in this set, the room was absolutely heaving and at capacity, so the energy was pretty awesome!

We welcome Cosmin Stroe a.k.a Emotional Tourist, for the sixty-sixth edition of the 'Deep In Mix' series. Hailing from Bucharest, Romania, his home and the muse for his musical journey, Cosmin's profound connection with music dates back to his earliest memories, sparking a passion that eventually led him into the heart of the electronic music scene.

In 2015, he took his first steps into music production. What began as a quest to define specific genres in his sets evolved into a mission to evoke diverse feelings and emotions through electronic music. Since then, Emotional Tourist has been on a quest to communicate sentiments through his beats. Under the alias Andrew Case, he marked his entry into the electronic music scene in 2016, garnering attention with releases on Sudbeat, Manual Music, and Sound Avenue. The evolution into the Emotional Tourist project in 2018 saw him release tracks on Shanti Moscow Radio and make waves with a standout EP on Kindisch in 2020, showcasing his gift for deep and melodic compositions.

Having graced the stages of major festivals in Romania, including Electric Castle, Untold Festival, and Neversea Festival, Emotional Tourist has shared the limelight with the biggest names in the industry. His sonic explorations have reverberated in renowned clubs such as Akasha (Ibiza), and Bar Feijoa (Amsterdam) to name a few. Influenced by the sounds of Guy J, Emotional Tourist views every DJ and producer who respects the music and the messages they convey as a role model. He has released on prominent labels like When We Dip XYZ, Kindisch, Stellar Fountain, and The Young Proprietor to name a few. His compositions capture the spectrum of emotions, from the joy of a first kiss to the poignant beauty of a sunrise after a night of anticipation. In 2022, he launched his own label 'Mixed Feelings' - a platform to harness the tones that have spread wide over the last few years.

Emotional Tourist invites listeners to anticipate an exploration of sound that transcends boundaries. His message is simple but profound: "Let your ears be the means to opening your mind and soul, only then you're truly going to hear the message. Hugs!" Enjoy the mix!

Welcome to a colourful landscape of sounds.

BIO:

Pedro Sanmartín A.K.A. Basic Shape was born in Barcelona in 1981 and has always seen art and later music as a way of inhabiting the world. 
His background in Fine Arts led him naturally into music production and vinyl mixing, not as performance, but as craft and method.

He began his professional DJ career in 2005 after a period immersed into the club culture of Germany, which felt less like a scene and more like a way of moving through life. 
Since then, he has shaped a sober, attentive sound, somewhere between the spaces of house and techno and electro that few explore with ease.


His productions have been released on labels such as Seven Villas, Everything Will Be Ok, Loot Recordings, Univack,Tronic and Tenampa to name a few and have found their way into the playlists of artists like Hernán Cattáneo, Pablo Bolívar, Christian Smith, and Danny Howells. 
In 2020, he released on Seven Villas Music his debut  album "Unfolding Nature," a record that avoids clichés in favor of simplicity and essence.


Pedro has collaborated with platforms like Ibiza Global Radio,Ibiza Sonica, Deepersounds, and British Airways, and has performed live and DJ sets at events such as the Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) or Electro Beach and at venues like Nitsa Club, Razzmatazz, Insomnia, and Culture Box name a few, sharing lineups with artists like Guy J, Rrose, Pablo Bolívar, and Nhar.


A prolific producer and DJ, Pedro Sanmartín has carved his own signature sound within the electronic global landscape: a deep, emotive, and hypnotic form of house, techno and electro that resists shortcuts and spectacle. His music unfolds quietly, offering those who listen a rare space shaped by patience, depth, and slow revelation.
