Producers Cosmonaut and K Loveski, both renowned for their sophisticated approach to Progressive House, return to Univack with a new collaboration: “Jackelele”, a four-track EP that fuses tribal energy, melodic elegance, and club sensibility. Through its sonic narrative, the release explores diverse shades of progressive house, featuring remixes by Tali Muss, Sunchain, and 8PAJ2-three rising talents in the global underground scene.

Sunchain takes the track into a more organic and immersive direction, rich in tribal percussion and deep atmospheres. 

“Jackelele” is a sonic journey that bridges tribal roots and contemporary dancefloor aesthetics-ideal for energy-filled DJ sets. A new testament to Univack’s ongoing commitment to emotional depth and musical quality within the Melodic & Progressive House universe.

ARRVL 022 - Jake Hobbs

Jake Hobbs has been around in the music scene since the early 90's. He started djing with vinyl on 1210's and his love of drum and bass was a reflection of the Bristol rave era at that time. Spin the turntables forward three decades and Jake's heart has firmly found its place in the deep house scene. His uploads onto his Soundcloud page over the last 12 months have gained him a loyal fan base tuning into his weekly Deep Mondays live show and his Ewoh series. He also does a weekly live show on Friday evenings at 9pm for Beach Radio and more recently supported Jody Wisternoff at Night Tales in London for two shows in one day delivering both opening and closing sets. Keep an eye out for Jake as he continues to gain momentum and recognition as a deep house dj with soul.

A little bit about the mix from the man himself:

It is always a privilege to be asked to do a new guest mix! I met DJ Konnr (Connor) from ARRVL at Night Tales the other week who asked if I’d like to put one together. Of course I jumped at the chance! I wanted to create a listening experience in a little over an hour that takes the listener on a voyage. Starting with a lovely chilled promo from Pablo Gargano where you can picture yourself outside in the fresh air walking by cliff tops easing yourself gently into Brilliant Eyes by Ryterband remixed by my buddy Jody W. The mix then takes sharp progressive turn and we crank it up for a few tracks with a few more promos coming out from Phronesis Records, Joyride Records, E=MC2 and the Melodic Beats stables. Simon Doty is a wonderful Canadian producer who puts so much feeling into his work with the long held notes and characteristic chord changes; which is where we head to next in order to line up three stunning vocal tracks which are doing the rounds at the moment. We then sail into Every Time by Ben Pierre as the mix kicks it back up a notch ready for the grisly dark and theatrical Anomalous. One of my favourite tunes at the moment. I just love filthy bass lines. Marsh is on fire at the moment and his Lost in You EP is a masterpiece. Guipe inspired from Explorations provides a lovely key change for the penultimate track before my tune of 2019 closes the set.

REFUGE Episode 04 - SPOOKY SZN SPECIAL

Hey guys, welcome back to another episode of REFUGE. This is episode 05. I do want to apologise for the delay on getting this episode out. This past month has been a tough one. As some of you may have known through my socials, a good friend of mine Mohammad & his wife Noor died in a tragic drowning accident while on their honeymoon in Turks & Caicos. I share this with you all because Mo was a great rave buddy of mine and he had a lot of influence on my taste in dance music. A lot of the amazing experiences on a dance floor that lead me down the path of being a DJ, he was there for.  So this episode is for you Mo - thanks for everything. 
Oddly enough it was also my birthday on the 18th. I am now in the last year of my twenties.

I'm just a small-town Canadian boy who loves music.

I started listening to electronic back in 2000 after my brother lent me some CDs for the summer from Sasha & Digweed, Moby, and Orbital. I got into the dance scene shortly after and found a strong connection to trance with DJs like Armin van Buuren, Paul van Dyk, and Ferry Corsten, while making some incredible friendships along the way. 

My first attempts at any kind of mixing were late-night vinyl sessions with my roommate listening to some classic trance and house and eventually putting together a simple set-up on my Mac to make some mixes for my commute. I’ve always liked the idea of being able to create a sort of soundtrack to my day-to-day and admire my friends who’ve made a career out of it as they bring such a positive impact to the lives of so many. 

I’ve spent the better part of my adult life abroad - first in China and now in Italy - and music has always been something that keeps me grounded and focused.
