Originally from Miami FL, Rick began to DJ in '87. A decade later, he was introduced to House music while living in Atlanta. He was a resident for Starchildren, who had a long standing Friday night residency at Club Sol. He became a local favorite and was asked to work at Satellite Records, under Tommy Sunshine, where he held a part time job for several years. After a small hiatus and a move to Denver CO, he started a family and has now returned to his passion. His new mix series, "Unwind Your Mind", is influenced by the desire to be able to put aside your daily troubles and enjoy some music therapy. Deckster discovered Dance Music very early, attracted to the nearby situated famous Dutch nightclubs like "Waakzaamheid", IT Amsterdam and Roxy.  He is addicted to music and plays several instruments, but never started playing the decks until mid 2020. His broad taste in music and search for out-of-ordinary tracks give him a unique sound and vibe.

He is in the game for the fun and joy of sharing music and vibe.  As music is tightly bond to atmosphere, place and time, the music varies from the most relaxed and chill sounds to some solid techno beats! 
His heart goes out to organic and downtempo progressive tunes, with a solid base in Bass, Drums and Percussion. Hypnotic and binding tunes with an ever existing positive vibe.

I'm just a small-town Canadian boy who loves music.

I started listening to electronic back in 2000 after my brother lent me some CDs for the summer from Sasha & Digweed, Moby, and Orbital. I got into the dance scene shortly after and found a strong connection to trance with DJs like Armin van Buuren, Paul van Dyk, and Ferry Corsten, while making some incredible friendships along the way. 

My first attempts at any kind of mixing were late-night vinyl sessions with my roommate listening to some classic trance and house and eventually putting together a simple set-up on my Mac to make some mixes for my commute. I’ve always liked the idea of being able to create a sort of soundtrack to my day-to-day and admire my friends who’ve made a career out of it as they bring such a positive impact to the lives of so many. 

I’ve spent the better part of my adult life abroad - first in China and now in Italy - and music has always been something that keeps me grounded and focused.
