So, as it is, that only the past and the yet-to-come may be, equally forward-gliding, stripped bare essentiality, not fleeing nor soon to be revealed from beneath, but that farther-off ancient white, as well as now, except not quite yet, because your words begin to knowingly answer only at the dawn of the ever-beginning, still lingering in the shadow of the last-minute A. Its suddenness, so tangibly clinging to experience, appears with all its bases thoroughly self-sown, that developing, leaking wake drawn in the water; come, take from it your own.
Black soil pours feet, but the beginning of the chapter giver lets it be known that from the flowers of the land, a pine has become snags, backwoods, lights, splits, pieces, and (at least in the beginning) numbers to embroider the cover in mockery: and not everything at once, right from the first time, let alone perhaps in the end after all, when nevertheless the fore- and hindpaws, at your command, you yourself decide your truths to be, your assumptions, your catches...

The 42nd release of katharsis is the collaborative album “Soft Space” by label founder jjjacob and various other artists from around the world, coming out on May 31st. The album works as a sequel to his previous full-length release "Brutal Nature" from 2022, both in terms of the collaborational dogma in production but also in the thematic connection and contrast between the brutality of nature and the softness of space. All tracks emerged as infantile jjjacob sketches, then taking more form and gaining inspirational matter from the collaborating artists' conduct and care, before finally being concluded by the final touches of jjjacob again.

The result is as the title suggests smooth and gentle at most times, but it does though have more wicked and harsh moments and aspects throughout the album. The emotional journey of the album keeps pendulating between the pleasant floating sensations of celestial emptiness and the brute mysticality of the unknown. At times it feels aerodynamic or dissolving, at others it tastes crispy and anthemic, but the overall output is definitely ethereal and cosmic.

Lost Hope

The word alisma is said to be a word of Celtic origin meaning « water », the habitat in which Alisma plantago-aquatica (a perennial flowering aquatic plant) grows. This album was composed thinking of all creatures living underwater, the ones that live above the surface and the others who live below in the depths of water. Each track is an ecosystem where those creatures live, communicate and dance together.

ANNOUNCEMENT

Maria Teriaeva’s second album ‘Conservatory of Flowers’ will be released on April 17, 2020. Following her solo debut Focus in 2017, 'Conservatory of Flowers' focuses on rhythm and percussive elements, cutting down ambient passages and leaning even more toward traditional song forms, structuring compositions into pop-length pieces. Recorded over a period of three years, mostly composed during one summer at her dacha (cottage in Russian) just outside of Moscow, resulting in a vibrant and light sound inspired by her surrounding nature.
