Machines can now play chess much better than humans. While playing online, there is a tempation to consult them to play the next move and win the games. It's a normal human desire to have access to a far superior intelligence to obtain counsel and guidance for our lives. In the old times this idea was made concrete in some religious objects, like the Urim and Thummim. Today we have hangars full of computer servers.

How much can we ever know?
How big can we ever build?
How far can we ever go?
How fast can we ever learn?
How deep can we ever see?
How strong can we ever grow?

As far as I'm concerned, I'm just a prisoner, 
condemned to carry with me the constraints of my flesh.
Between the quantum foam
and the whispers from the cosmic abyss,
we keep searching the gloomy horizons
with larger than life apparatuses,
trying to reach the ancient libraries written in the fabric of time.
But how could we ever fit such vast knowledge
in the windings of our brains?
I suspect seer stones with the size of planets 
will expand our limits.
But even those devices may become exiguous. 
The most important thing to know
is to know we don't know much.

I would like to introduce my son, Joseph, who indulged his dad and did a fabulous job of filling out the end of this short tune with some wonderful guitar soloing on the outro. Even though he has only been playing for a few years, he is miles ahead of where I was at his age as a musician. I couldn't be prouder, and I know that my dad is looking down and smiling, as he played piano and wrote music. I hope this is the first of many!
