Melody As Truth is proud to announce “Melodies In The Sand”, a collection of works from Czech artists Irena and Vojtěch Havlovi.

The husband-and-wife duo began working together in the mid 80’s as part of experimental ensemble Capella Antiqua e Moderna, a unique association of musicians whose repertoire spanned various styles of European classical music.

With an inventive and unorthodox approach to both historical and modern compositional techniques and interpretive procedures, the Havel’s have steadfastly developed a unique and musically autonomous language which continues to expand to this day.

Spanning their early work in Capella Antique e Moderna to recent pieces recorded for Viola De Gamba, ‘Melodies In The Sand’ is presented to the listener with the simple aim of shining a light on these incredible musicians. Their work has within it the ability to penetrate and enrich the innermost corners of a perceptive human soul, a gift which they share with sincerity and humbleness.

this is my most ambitious project to date and i spent a good amount of time working on this! this is my first actual album under this new name that doesn't include any tracks from my previous self.. this album dives into my mental state and how i feel most of the time + this album is the last project i'll release before i start my life as a "non-teen" experience in life.

after this releases, i'm gonna evolve into a new person, abandoning my past self and my mistakes to become a new and better version of myself.

(why am i so problematic?)

In early 2017 I recorded this mix trying to make it a follow up to the joy of cooking series. after listening a couple of times I feltlike it could be shorter - and forgot about it. It just appeared when I tried to make room on my external hard disk ... The last two hours were quite entertaining so I share these with you...

The Australian ship Southern Surveyor sails toward the Eastern Coral Sea in November 2012. The crew is nervous when approaching the coordinates of Sandy Island north-east of New Caledonia. Minuscule archipelagos and stone-hard chalk riffs are common in this area. Captain Fred Stein and marine geologist Maria Seton have ordered their crew on deck to scan the waves for dangerous riffs or seabed sightings. Some of the scientist on board follow the search on the computer screen – and are amused to live-track their ship as it crosses the black pixels on Google Maps labelled Sandy Island. The explorers have undiscovered an islet that has been on the maps since Captain Cook charted it on his second voyage as lying off the northern tip of New Caledonia. A British Admiralty chart of 1908 that includes Sandy Island warns: "Caution is necessary while navigating among the low lying islands of the Pacific Ocean. The general details have been collated from the voyages of various navigators extending over a long series of years. The relative position of many dangers may therefore not be exactly given."

First Outsiders appointment for Kashual Plastik, vinyl, tape and art label, founded for hedonism and free-spirited music lovers. The short run releases shall be dedicated to the underground and casually combine selected tunes from all kinds of music.

For the first edition, Kashual Plastik welcomes Brannten Schnüre, experimental dark folk group from the south of Germany, followed by a live recording by US electronic duo Georgia. Closing this 2-hour music journey, a melodic droning recording by Geheimnis Der Gräber.

Outsiders: Kashual Plastik w/ Brannten Schnüre, Georgia & Geheimnis Der Gräber

‘Malvern Brume is the moniker of London based sound artist and musician Rory Salter. After two cassette releases and appearing on compilations for both Infant Tree and Low Company, Salter released his debut album Tendrils on Alter in the summer of last year alongside and a 20 minute piece for Cafe OTO’s TakuRoku label. Malvern Brume’s music is made up of a considered bric-à-brac of field recordings, playful improvised synthesis, stream of consciousness poetry and everyday object clatter; forming a dense foggy sound often made in response to specific locations and the overwhelming intensity of life in London - It’s as much a document of these real spaces as it is a retelling of the emotional reactions and experiences of inhabiting them. Salter also co-runs the label Infant Tree with artist and musician Ben Victor Waggett.
