This is an old track I've made 2 years ago. 👴

I really like this track because it reminds me to have fun while composing 😋. You know sometime when I'm stressed I need to try some bold and crazy things in my music. This is one of those strange tracks.

This track has no real history and no real agenda. But I wanted to write something to bring together all the instruments I love : duduk, oud, guitar, synth and percussions.
I started the track by combining several guitar pulses. I added the percussions and improvised all other tracks on my midi keyboard.
I had to do a lot of midi programming to make this track work!
I hope it's not that bad. And I hope all duduk and oud players will forgive me if it's not perfect. It's all midi and virtual instruments and it won't match the beauty of a real player performance.

I've made some changes in this version : 
- The opera voice is different and I have been able to do what I couldn't do 2 years ago. The last note of the opera performance was not is the first version.
- The mixing is less agressive and I tried different panning settings.

Based on Wypernet's (Laurent) song, and with his permission, I've posted this to my page on SC. The song emerged as an exploration and exhortation. If you feel as though you are going through the motions of life, and it's understandable in the age of Covid 19, it's time to change things up. Where's the red pill from the Matrix? (is the red pill the vaccine? Or is it a mask that some people choose not to wear? Or are these just what gets us past the pandemic...then what?). The Red Pill may be the simple awareness of others' needs and thinking of others first. Self-less, rather than self-ish. Other -centered, not self-centered. Here's another preview of the upcoming Penelope's Thrill album--something a little different--a rock song with a tuba solo! When I was recording this song with my Starfire XII electric 12 string, I just felt it was crying out for a tuba solo (which would be about the biggest possible contrast for the chime of a 12 string). Luckily, Ben Jaeger--the amazing guitarist for the Madison, Wisconsin, band Sunspot--is also a tuba virtuoso, and he agreed to take this on.
"L&C Eternally" is about Lonnie and Chloe, who grow up on adjacent farms in southern Wisconsin. (In fact, the whole new album is about them.)
The main guitar I play on this is my 1966 Guild Starfire XII, my choice for the best electric 12 ever built. With some fast-picking and palm-muting, it can make some unique sounds! The Starfire is helped by my Gretsch 2420 and my '78 Guild S-60.
(And, yes, that is me doing the really high backing vocals!)
