Winter Came Suddenly

Here's a song inspired by the coronavirus pandemic (but it's upbeat and hopeful). Big thanks to Ben Lokuta, who recorded the drums remotely. Ben is an amazing young drummer currently studying at Berklee College of Music and the drummer for Distant Cuzins. I played gigs with Ben all last year, including at Summerfest in Milwaukee. Ben plays a huge drum set with two kicks, so mixing was a bit of a challenge! I told Ben to let loose in the last verse, and he really came through.
All four guitars I play in this song are Gretsches--hollowbody or semi-hollow--all with different pickups:

As some of you know I suffered from Cataract a very long time. It rules everything in life to see or to see not. Now I got new lenses implanted and learn to see quite from the beginning. It´s amazing, I am gifted with a new way of life. Time to close that chapter. To finish it, I expressed some of my experiences and suffering in that song. Thanks for listening. Penelope's Thrill is a lucky accident. Lured out of musical retirement by son Andrew, Timothy Walsh dusted off his guitars, including his favorite vintage Guilds and Gretsches, and picked up where he left off 25 years ago playing in garage bands in New Jersey and Boston. 
Tim founded Penelope's Thrill as the vehicle for his new songs, often pulling in other musicians from Madison and from around the world for particular tracks. Son Andrew occasionally appears on guitar or adding vocals. Wife Barbara also appears on keyboards and backing vocals.

     ***All tracks are recorded and mixed by Timothy Walsh at Yew Tree Studios (that is, a tiny upstairs room in my house nestled amid century-old yew trees). Recent songs are recorded with Logic Pro using hardware tube preamps, compressors, etc. Earlier tracks were recorded direct to a Zoom R8 recorder.

Hello Soundcloud, thanks for the Listens, Likes and Support. Im from Melbourne Australia, I have been playing guitar for many years now and played in two bands during the 80's & 90's (STOLEN CAR original) & (STORM cover),both bands never released any material. Since 2010 i have been writing songs and tunes and recording them in my music room (3rd Bedroom), i play Guitar, Bass, Keys, BFD2 Drums(programmed)and Vocals on all of my songs which i class as Demo's, I love all types of music but Hard Rock, Rock to Alternative appeals to me most.
