The Marquis' coat is a thing of wonder and beauty. Middle of the House begins with the creak of wooden floorboards, a low rumble reminiscent of the nor-west wind, and a haunting solo piano. This all sets the scene for a song that hits deep with claustrophobic memories, childhood violence and moving on. 

The chorus opens out into the pounding drums, and wavering synths beneath the line “In middle of the house where you grew up, saw the way that you went back into your shell, could feel the cold of your mother - see the marks on the walls, baby how you’ve grown”.
