The sun is setting an hour earlier and chilly evenings spent in front of the fire are replacing afternoon barbecues and poolside adventures. The windows can stay down in the car but the heat stays blasting to fight the first gripping tendrils of winter. The fall is beautiful though, and it has always been a time for introspection and looking to the past and future. I've been thinking a lot about everything that's happening and I sort of think that this mix of songs reflects that. Melancholy and nostalgia aren't unfamiliar partners to ride with, but they sure feel good to cuddle up with when its cold outside and you're lying in bed with your headphones on thinking about somewhere a little warmer.  

I really want to thank all of the artists that made the music included in the mix. I fall in love with this shit every single day and hopefully this can lead some people your way.  See below for the full tracklist including time signatures, and then go check out their music!

Where Does This Disco? is about love and compact discs. They're both on the edge of becoming obsolete, and they both get scratched if you play them too hard. They're both mirrors, but one is still the best medium we have for connecting with each other.

Where Does This Disco? is our first release on Downtown Records. It's also the namesake for our upcoming North American tour, during which a special editioned object containing this song will be available for purchase. The remix is by the wildly talented Jerome LOL, one-half of DJ Dodger Stadium, and wholly from the Internet.

the last night of the season at Hotel Erwin's High Bar in Venice - also Halloween. Costumes like Tadia's Purple Rain-era Prince inspired the last half-hour's retro-thumpin' set of high school mixtape classics with a thick, bumpy undercarriage, which made for 30 or so minutes of moody mellow and the first cool crisp winter bite of melancholia as we'd be saying goodbye til next summer. Grab a blanket and something (preferably someone) warm and enjoy. Thanks for listening.
