If you are reading this, congratulations, you've made it to 2021! While we are still pretty much stuck at home, I am here to refresh your palette with some tasty disco/funk tunes and wash away the bad taste that was 2020.
Music lovers are being treated to a renaissance of sorts, with an overwhelming abundance of music to choose from. Disco and Funk have stepped forward with their best platform and stiletto shoes and are ready to make you groove! Transcending all previously set expectations, this 60+ minute album features both vocal and instrumental creative pieces, and works that destroy the borders of genre while still being coherent. This is truly a spiritual successor to the first DAVE album, and if it doesn't take you on a wild adventure, it will at least take you out of one.

🥰🍌🌹LA disco maven LUXXURY (Blake Robin)'s first original song since lockdown 'Don't Give Up (I Believe in You)' is a fresh, funk-infused fusion of 'Forget Me Nots'-style Rhodes, infectious bass, dusty lo-fi beats and a simple, uplifting mantra-like vocal delivered by Robin in his gorgeous falsetto. Striking an optimistic note for the new year, LUXXURY says: 'I've been home for nine months and like all of us it's been a rollercoaster of emotions. This is the first new song I’ve finished in over a year, and the lyrics just poured out of me when I started recording: I truly surprised myself with my own optimism! I feel like this song is a gimmer of hope near the end of a dark period.'

When 2020’s lockdown required LA-based disco king LUXXURY to put his legendary all-stems live remix DJ set on hold, he doubled down on production, with nearly a dozen remixes and collabs and five original singles hitting official Spotify playlists like Crate Diggers and Serotonin; features on KCRW and even a spot on Magnetic Magazine’s top 25 disco songs of 2020. In addition he put out an official Splice pack, a Toolroom Academy Masterclass and 4 sold out 12” vinyl releases AND found the time to go viral on TikTok, garnering 175k followers in just a few months on the platform. With another XBOX placement in the works 2021 is shaping up to be even better with more dusty disco releases on the way and, with any luck LUXXURY will be back DJing from Tulum to Delhi again.
