Mrs. Nutcracker's Kitchen Dance

Continuing a nostalgic trend after discovering old cassette tapes from some years back...

In 1999 I met my birth-mother who had had me out of wed-lock at the age of 15.  Her father, being a pastor, stepped down from the pulpit and brought her to Fort Worth to a home for unwed mothers where I could be adopted the day I was born. She never saw me.

In my early forties, by circumstances not set in motion by me or my birth mother (we weren't seeking each another), we met.   It turned out we hit it off immediately.  We both thought alike, had the same sense of humor, and were both musically talented (her WAY more than me).

I showed her a song I had composed in 1993 in Ankara, Turkey that had been performed and sung at the base chapel.  She took it and started to play it in her church.  To show off her piano playing, the first part is the 1993 midi version that I spent hours putting in a rudimentary notation program on my Macintosh followed by her analog piano playing.

So there's all kinds of stuff on this page, but after months of schizophrenic debates about who was playing with who and who took the lead while doing it, finally, the decision was made: all my alter egos got together and decided to form a band. From 2020 on new tracks are created under the moniker Gruppo Infernal. Only pure MMTJ tracks will still be named as such. 

Gruppo Infernal still relies on my work as Me, my Thumb and Jack, an ongoing quest for a liberating approach to sound creation where the human body acts as an oscillator amplifying the natural 50hz hum. Direct live recording, improvisations and delay loops only using analog filters and effects. No editing, no overdubs. Gruppo Infernal adds digital treatment to this original sound material. 

UnterPitch was an alter ego using samples & synths.
Bleached Coffins was a one-off project using guitars.
