Arabella Steinbacher has firmly established herself as one of today’s leading violinists on the international concert scene, where her mastery of the violin frequently joins forces with the world’s major symphony orchestras. Violin sensation Arabella Steinbacher began performing her first violin concerto (in G major) by Mozart when only eight years old, nearly as early on in life as the composer himself. And since then, the work has threaded its way throughout her successful career like a leitmotiv. Ms. Steinbacher has played the concerto at so many important moments of her life that she inevitably considers it an integral part of her. Yet her performance had never yet been recorded on CD – until now. 
Arabella's playful style mirrors Mozart's joyful approach to music and his unique manner of setting out deliciously pure, yet cheeky harmonies in these three concertos. Mozart's sense of humour and ideas are subtly conveyed by Arabella's delicate mastery of the music, with the support of the Festival Strings Lucerne at its finest.

This track (Allegro Molto Appassionate) is a complete movement of Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy's "Concerto for Violin and Orchestra in E Minor, Op.64" performed by Arabella Steinbacher and Orchestre de la Suisse Romande with Maestro Charles DUTOIT as the conductor. This SACD album is expected to be released by PENTATONE on June 2015.

This release arguably features the two greatest concertos ever written for the violin: performed by one of the most brilliant violinists of her generation, together with one of the finest orchestras, and under the baton of one of the world’s foremost conductors. This recording of Tchaikovsky/Mendelssohn violin concertos bears witness to the eminence of the collaboration between violinist Arabella Steinbacher, conductor Charles Dutoit and PENTATONE’s Orchestra of the Season January June 2015, Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, and the result thereof.
