Violin sensation Arabella Steinbacher began performing her first violin concerto (in G major) by Mozart when only eight years old, nearly as early on in life as the composer himself. And since then, the work has threaded its way throughout her successful career like a leitmotiv. Ms. Steinbacher has played the concerto at so many important moments of her life that she inevitably considers it an integral part of her. Yet her performance had never yet been recorded on CD – until now. 
Arabella's playful style mirrors Mozart's joyful approach to music and his unique manner of setting out deliciously pure, yet cheeky harmonies in these three concertos. Mozart's sense of humour and ideas are subtly conveyed by Arabella's delicate mastery of the music, with the support of the Festival Strings Lucerne at its finest.

Arabella Steinbacher plays Mozart Violin Concerto No.3 In G, 1. Allegro

The Ride of the Valkyries (German: Walkürenritt) is the popular term for the beginning of Act III of Die Walküre, composed by Richard Wagner.

Die Walküre is the second of the four operas by Richard Wagner that constitute Der Ring des Nibelungen. This particular repertoire was first written down by the composer on 23 July 1851 and composed in 1854. The Ride of The Valkyries is frequently used in filmmaking and television productions. Together with the Bridal Chorus from Lohengrin, this repertoire is one of Wagner's best-known pieces.

In 2010, the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra began recording the ten major operatic works of Richard Wagner, all under the baton of Marek Janowski. The operas were recorded live in concert versions, enabling the listener exclusively to concentrate on the music. Intelligently performed, brilliantly sung and beautifully recorded, this Walküre is the 8th release in PENTATONE’s unique Wagner Edition.
