After being a DJ for over two decades, Lauren Sovereign shares a different side of herself in releasing her original folk music, sweetened by her Southern roots. With her first single “Seasons of My Life,” she unveils her psychedelic Southern folk signature sound, recorded in 432hz.

Lauren Sovereign shares heartfelt stories from her journey. From the shadows of human psyche, she names distortions of the human experience, transmuting, entraining, healing and soothing into greater understanding, integration, acceptance and freedom. 

Each song begins as a testimony and evolves into an epiphany, guiding the listener to another place, resolving grief, embodying trust in all that is.

As a DJ, she deftly weaves electro folkloric rhythms from across the globe in a journey affirming our connection and belonging.

This "California love" girl born and raised with half her heart in Los Angeles and in Maui has her roots set in hip hop, rnb, reggae, rock, alternative, gospel and soul, as well as classical and jazz influences from her training as a classical voice major at UCLA.  Singing and performing in front of audiences in church from an early age of 2, she has always had her creative talents going hand in hand with her passion for helping others.  Teaching a love for music and a connection with community service, she has taught over 15 years to underprivileged children and teens at inner city schools in the Greater Los Angeles Public school system, as well as lending her practical and nurturing teaching talents to other schools and children's performing arts and music camps on the island of Maui, as well as nonprofit organizations in Los Angeles, which brings musical training to inner city children.

Been doing music for a loooong time.  I have quite a few placements under my belt from MTV to VH-1 and Film/TV/Video Games.  I hope you enjoy the music i post.
