DJ Chipz-n-Dip is an up-in-comming CHIPSTEP artist who is quickly revolutionizing the genre. He believes that as long as you have love in your heart and a lot of free samples, you can make the lame ass music for people to love and cherish. He has played shows just about everywhere in the whole world, melting faces and leaving violent fits of vomiting and rage in his wake. His favorite artists are himself and no one else. Chipz believes that to make good music, you need to not listen to any music other than your own. Watch out world, cuss DJ Chipz-n-Dip is taking over, 8 bits at a time!

“Music that fulfills the palate of even the hungriest and pickiest of music listeners” Spirits Republic are rockers by nature, but with a musical prowess that makes them one of a kind. Their music is a high energy dance party one second, and a headbanging mosh pit the next with their fans losing their S*** on cue. They have it all; insightful, catchy songwriting, ripping guitar solos, unforgiving slap bass, and explosive percussion. Think the classics, like The Beatles and Led Zeppelin mixed with The Smashing Pumpkins with a hint of early Red Hot Chili Peppers and Primus, and everything in between.  

Spirits Republic have always been DIY and they operate on their own terms. From merch to music videos, they make them by hand. When they want to play a last minute show, they find a house venue and pack it wall to wall. Online, they are consistently coming out with tongue and cheek social media content that turns heads. There really isn’t much that is off limits these days and they have no signs of slowing.  
 
The three-piece came together in the summer of 2016, and quickly began working on original music that would be included on their debut album, “Hourglass.” A hard hitting and diverse album that defined the band’s sound, expertly fusing elements of alternative rock, funk, psychedelia with hard hitting and abrupt musical breakdowns. This album enabled Spirits Republic to make their name within the Nashville music scene by playing live as often as possible. Whether it be gigging in their home town or on tour, they make new fans every single show they play.

Hi! My name is Aj Sherman, I live in Long Island City, Queens and since I was a kid I’ve been obsessed with Guitars, Food TV, Hip Hop, Star Wars, The Yankees and Superheroes. While watching Emeril Live I learned to master the ice cream parfait sundaes, omelets and a bitchin’ grilled cheese. In college this latent hobby of mine would later be crystallized by the amazing work of Mr. Anthony Bourdain on shows like “No Reservations” and his book “Kitchen Confidential.” During this time I was a young stoned intellectual who made a point to admire the whole food service industry and seek a place in it.

When I was 18, I began working at a grease-ball paradise on the South Shore of Long Island during the summers as a food runner, counter help and an occasional fry guy. I took orders for chicken fingers, ran trays of discounted lobster on promo nights and dreamed of one day being a bartender on the beach. Although my fellow employees were great and the environment near perfect, college afforded me many more opportunities to taste and travel. Through bouncing around universities like Jack Kerouac, I was able to study at three amazing academic establishments on the east coast and in Israel. During my time in Israel, I played and bartended at a comedy club in downtown Jerusalem called Off the Wall. While still in college my parents sponsored a Bartending college course as a fall back and during my senior year in Albany, I worked as a full time server in a lovely Italian restaurant.

Upon graduating and with my future still up in the air, I returned back to Long Island to begin waiting tables in a very famous, very popular Belgian Mussel place in Garden City. It’s named after a traditional dish Belgian dish that rhymes with Banjo Kazooie. After only working there a few months, I realized that the professional, full time, food service lifestyle was sadly a bit to decadent for me. Shortly after realizing this I began riding a desk in midtown Manhattan for a social media platform as an event planner. Afforded with the great cornucopia of venues that is New York City, I began researching and documenting my eating experiences all over town for work and pleasure. Now through an amazing twist of career opportunity, I travel quite frequently and work from home. In my spare time I eat, write things, take pictures of inspiring art or food and will geek out over pretty much anything. In closing – I like food and music, I always liked music and food, I worked in food for a bit and now I get to eat and take pictures of my food for fun.
