Here is my second set of the last trance night at Ruby Skye, which was the official Dreamstate After Party. This has been my SF home for over 6 years as a DJ and promoter. It has shaped my career and been a huge part of my life. It was bittersweet to play one last time as a venue I will always call home. 

Thank you Ruby Skye! It was an absolute honor to close out the last trance night...

The name is Jose Aguilar and I am no DJ!! Mixing became a hobby after I saw Simon Patterson and Sean Tyas back to back at EDC 2011.  For the first time, I heard a set live where every single song had me floating.  Before that night, I thought I knew what trance was, but I was wrong.  138-140 BPM’s is my speed limit with the excepting of 136 every now and then.  The love of this music introduced me to tech trance and it also led to techno, real uplifting trance, and to some hard dance.  Within a month, I was a changed man.  For once in my life, I was actually obsessed with a music genre(s).  The love of this music got interested in looking up live sets from DJ’s like Simon Patterson, Bryan Kearney, Indecent Noise, Aly & Fila, John O’Callaghan, etc.  Hearing all these mixes really got me interested in understanding what these guys are doing up there.  Eventually, I got myself a cheap and affordable Numark DJ controller and invested in the software Traktor (which I’m still using).  Right away I started loving the feeling of total control of the music.  I originally started recording my mixes to take on road trips and for GYM sessions but I eventually started giving them out because I want to introduce people to this style of music.  It upsets me that I was missing out on music for such a long time.
