Band History:

Although Ker’s band, Hotsi Patootsi, broke up, Ker continuously make new, interesting songs. From there, he was convinced to form a new band named POP U. Since Ker’s family have a strong sense for music he decided to take along his two siblings, Chadd on drums and Kenneth on bass guitar. Then he invited his former band mate, Pit, his guitarist from Hotsi Patootsi, to join POP U. The band started last September 9, 2009. POP U are now arranging and recording their songs, at the same time composing new ones, in preparation for their future plans for the band.

Originally, Ker’s plan for the band name was, 'Ghost Notes and Broken Chords', but then, he thought that the name was too long for a band, so Ker concentrated with the genre of music the band has. Also derived from the Eraserheads’ album UltraElectroMagneticPop!, the name POP U arise.

POP U aimed for a new taste of music. Loud, lively but catchy melody with strong lyrics pertaining to everyday experience in man’s life. Love, life and sanity are things that POP U can give. With the influence of Arctic Monkeys, The Kooks, The Beatles and other British bands, also,with the twist of OPM’s Eraserheads, POP U and their music can deliver a new flavor in the Philippines’ music industry.
