"Brighton-based band The Mysterons took their name from race of Martians in a British 60′s sci-fi show. While this might say something about the garage-punk roots they grew from, it does not describe the subject matter in their songs at all. For that is very earthy indeed, if not downright sleazy and greasy. They sing about being wasted, robbing liquor stores, or -in this case- underage girls. Matthew Lamb is a up and coming vocalist from the North West of England.  His recent performances have been taking audiences by storm and leaving people wanting more and more.

Being brought up to love jazz, swing and big band music, Matthew's passion for that era comes across in each one of his performances. 

- "I don't think the live atmosphere that the rat pack legends created has ever been  surpassed today, so I want to make it my mission to bring it back!"

With his smooth vocal stylings that have been likened to the greats of times gone by - Frank Sinatra & Dean Martin with more modern comparisons to the likes of Harry connick jnr & Michael Bublé  -  Matthew is sure to impress and make a lasting impression on any lover of great music.

Matthew sings a mixture of classic swing/big band music (rat pack era) & also a lot of more modern jazz/swing from the likes of Michael Bublé, Jamie cullum and Peter Grant.  Matthew also loves to sing modern pop music which has been turned into big band versions.

These are a few songs I've recorded..some unprofessionally, some in a little studio held in a bathroom!

Liverpool Bands is a celebration of the unsigned music of the City. The player features tracks from bands operating in or from the City -  regularly changing the rules are bands ask to go on and they go on in the order they ask. In this way the player reflects the bands who are out there promoting themselves now but alos then does not reflect a house style.

Meandering down haphazard roads, this should serve as no compass, but for the truly lost.
Singing to the river and awaiting its slow reply, this is a broken watch.
Standing in an ugly, blue curtained booth, this is a spoilt ballot.
Swaying to some intrinsic, sombre tune, this is a paper thin excuse.
