Following on from 2024's "Distant Landscapes EP" alongside Tensal, Amorphic returns (solo this time) to James Ruskin's Blueprint Records with a new ten-track album released digitally and as two four-track vinyl EPs released simultaneously.

Amorphic is a pseudonym of Scottish artist Vince Watson to explore more raw and hypnotic signatures. Launched in 2022, Amorphic has featured on labels such as Token, Symbolism and Modularz as well as the two labels Vince runs himself: Amorphic and Morph.

With almost 30 years in the industry, Vince has released over 1000 tracks, which has allowed him to work and gig with some of the very best in that time including Laurent Garnier, Richie Hawtin, Carl Craig and in this year, Vince will release an LP with Carl Cox on his label Awesome Soundwave. As a touring musician has been able to play at some of the world's best clubs as both Amorphic and Vince Watson, including a residency at Tresor Berlin, DC10 Ibiza with Carl Cox, Berghain and Womb Tokyo as well as being a current resident of 909 Festival in Amsterdam.

VARIA is pleased to present the next episode in its podcast series, featuring Vincent Neumann.

Avid music collector, DJ's DJ, Vincent Neumann has gathered a loyal underground following by word of mouth, with consistently brilliant closing sets and long patient vinyl orientated mixing. 

Born, raised and currently residing in Leipzig, Vincent Neumann works as a psychotherapist during the day and as a dj by night. As one of the residents of Leipzig's Distillery since 2012, he happily gets to share his passion for dance music regularly. 

The vibes during his DJ sets are regularly described as energetic, driving, enthusiastic and sometimes even relentless, without ever sacrificing taste, quality and joyfulness. For him, authenticity will always stand above fame, and if you witness one of his marathon sets at Berghain or elsewhere you will understand what the fuss is about. 

In order to further plant his musical footprint into the sticky melange of spilled drinks and cigarettes on the world’s dancefloors, Vincent founded his own label, Unitas Multiplex, in 2020. So far highly acclaimed releases from the likes of Billie Joe, Fundamental Interaction, Inter Gritty and Linn Elisabet have seen the light of the day, with more to be expected in the future. Who knows, maybe he will even release music from his own feather sometime in the distant future. Until then you can definitely keep relying on his contagious energy and taste behind the decks.
This episode continues VARIA’s mission: championing considered electronic expression and lasting artistry.

Sawf, Perc Trax’s most mysterious artist returns to the label he calls home after EP’s for Modal Analysis, Audio Assault and M-Rec. This is his first new material for Perc Trax since his well received album ‘Flaws’ in 2011 and shows him introducing new influences to his trademark grinding, industrial sound.

First up is title track Menete, built around a 16th note synth line that recalls everything from classic EBM to more modern synth-led techno such as the recent Sleeparchive EP on Tresor.  Closing the a-side is Toolio, a far too modest title for a track that is far from a disposable techno tool.  An expert exercise in building percussion, this is closest to the sound people know from Sawf, but the best example of it yet.

Opening up the b-side is a remix from Yuji Kondo; know best for his work under both his own name and as half of Steven Porter on Semantica. The remix is everything you’d expect from Yuji. A wall of broken-beat noise topped off by cut up vocals samples and a fluid, ever-changing arrangement. Closing the 12” is ‘Diin’. A deeper, almost house-like cut from Sawf, building on a probing bass guitar line, proving he can do subtle and atmospheric as well as he does tough and confrontational.
