I made this for my final Electro Acoustic composition at the University of Manchester. Here are the programme notes:

This composition seeks to deconstruct my obsession with rhythm via several different styles of experimental  electronic music. The human voice and body are the only sound sources used in this piece and I have utilised many varied techniques to create a plethora of transformations and textures, including use of a Tascam 414 mkII cassette machine, heard more notably in the production of the introduction. My main aim with this piece was to incorporate my tastes in electronic music into Electro Acoustic music. Particular influences have been Manchester based Techno producer LOFT, Japanese avant-garde vocalist Phew, Kraftwerk, and the fast-paced, electronic music style of Chicago Footwork. Suburban Tales 1 was born as a VA dedicated to pushing local talents: it was our intimate dedication to Milan, the city which raised us, made us know each other, forged our sound.

Before this worldwide emergency, we were already planning the sequel, but this particular situation drove us to extend it both to Italian and international friends and affiliates.

A powerful project was born to finance the "Fondo San Giuseppe", a fund instituted by Comune di Milano, to support the people who lost their job during this struggle which sees Milan as one of the cities that had been hit most by the virus.

We will devolve the entire revenue to this association.

I made this jam on the Elektron Digitakt which I send back to the retailer lately. The Digitakt is a great sampler, but I realised I needed something bigger - the Octatrack was the only alternative, cant wait to finally get my hands on this monster! Imagine how much I am looking forward to the day he arrives since I already advertise the Octatrack in my artwork, without even using it before :)

Fever AM presents Xen Chron with his label debut “Deleted Vapor”. Based in Weymouth, Massachusetts, Xen Chron is the most recent alias from a producer active at varying levels of obscurity for over 20 years.

This EP consists of five tracks of forward thinking, psychedelic, broken techno that lean into “sci-fi sounds & atonalities, a sense of fun, & head nod factor” in his own words. At a time where clubs and dancefloors are almost completely absent worldwide, this EP captures current moods and feelings while insisting for us to keep moving.

"Deleted Vapor" EP on Fever AM (track snippets)

Specimen Records out of the UK has been around for a while now, serving mostly throughout that time as the primary publishing arm for label mastermind and Electro producer Eugene Black aka Black Art Circus. Recently however, the label has been on absolute fire, as it ventures out to some serious up and coming gems in the scene as of late, like Lloyd Stellar, Richard Easel, and now another one of the UK's finest rising Electro artists, The Droid.
Releasing the album "Execute", he debuts on Specimen Records with 6 original works, along with 4 remixes by none other than Go Nuclear (Bass Agenda), Dark Prophet (Crobot Muzik), Lloyd Stellar, and Hardenberg, all in all delivering a full length digital offering that is nothing short of pure robotic funk, driven by strong futuristic aesthetics, and intelligent programming.
The official video for the title song has also been shared online recently, featuring some seriously mind-bending video edits, and the absolute fury of The Droid's nefarious production that will remind the listener at times of artists like Anthony Rother and Boris Divider.
