What would a world be like without cheese, one of the most used ingredients in the world? Pizza would be a circle of heated dough, cheeseburgers would just be beef sandwiches and cheese toasties would literally just be toast. BORING.

If there’s one country that does cheese right it’s Italy, but that’s not the only thing that lands Italy on the world map – we’re talking about one young fellow named GIANT! He may not smell like a block of Gorgonzola, but he's just as potent.

At the top of his Louder Scream EP we have MSTRKRAFT. With a slice of bass too thick for bread, the record has an increasingly haunting synth that gets you feeling all kinds of sweaty. The flip has 2 cuts, AH OH DE and Wrong Call featuring Contribe. Both bangers in their own right, they perfectly bring GIANTs creativity and uniqueness to the forefront and exhibit his ability to write clubby Camembert for everyone.

We do thank GIANT for bringing some light to this dreary cheese-less world, but tend to think a world with both would be even better! In the wise words of Old El Paso says "Why can't we have both?"

Artichokes Are Yellow presents you with our first full-length album release by none other than Hot Pot.

Hot Pot is a producer to keep on your radar as he is consistently bringing unique and fresh flavors to producing electronic music. His music fills up a room with his amazing quality of sound on top of his songwriting which will inspire others in his footsteps. Hot Pot is impeccable at sticking to food references in his songs to never sway too far off the brand. He finally has a self-titled album to showcase everything the project Hot Pot is about. He has been working hard on this album for about half a year with incredible attention to detail and perfection, and it is certainly something to write home about.  
 
The album starts off with a haunting intro track featuring some of Hot Pot's thick synths and other sounds you will hear throughout the album, flowing into 'Gold Diamonds and Platinum' bringing a rugged bass and melodic prophet breakdown that gives a morning light energy and perfectly contrasts the darker heavy hitting drops in perfect cohesion.  

The album goes on to showcase Hot Pot's collaborative side. 'Money' with long-time friend Honeycomb is loaded with ear candy and smooth textures. 'No Mercy' is a collaboration between Hot Pot, Two Tails, and label boss Artsychoke. 'No Mercy' has pretty melodic breakdowns with soft piano and a harmonious vocal line to bring it all together. Combined with the classic heavy-hitting Hot Pot bassline and thick analog synths, this song is bound to make you feel something.

From Hot Pot's catchy food-related lyrics and acid bass lines in 'Eggs and Bacon', heavy hitting buildups in 'Hold A Grip', or his unique breaks flavor in 'Still Getting Phonky', it's evident that he continues to make his main focus curating a playful fun energy for his listeners.

Club music doesn't have to just be your typical tech house or techno romper. Club music comes in all shapes, smells and sizes - something that Mancodex has been delivering to us ever since day one of signing with us at BOC.

If our ears prick, we lift our heads and if we lift our heads, we move our feet and when we move our feet, we know it’s a banger. To kick things off with this release we have Colibrii (Higher). We tried to come up with some witty ways of describing this track, and we think we produced the perfect explanation: "Dark undertones and muted acid bass juxtaposed with sweet diva vocals create the perfect soundscape for arpeggiated white noise to live in Mancodex's latest soundtrack". Does it make sense? Enough tbh.

The flip Tripping Out sounds like something you'd hear during Milan fashion week. You know how rich people pretend to understand how clothing and complex music production fit together? This is one of those tracks. The music production is phenomenal and Dmitry, aka Mancodex is absolutely pushing the boundaries of what the words 'club music' mean.

The Head Game EP marks Joluca's second appearance on Perfect Driver following their label debut "Like A Virgin" on Swerve Volume 3. Comprised of 4 tracks, two originals and two remixes, the release features vocals by Grammy-nominated songwriter Hookman and internet sensation Mz 007.

"Head Game", which gets its name courtesy of Hookman's catchy vocal line, was born out of a late-night studio session that took place earlier this year while Dave and Adam (AKA Joluca) were briefly reunited after the latter moved to LA last September. "Act Right" showcases both Mz 007's brazen vocal style and Joluca's knack for clever basslines that combine for a club-ready cut full of equal parts sass and sub. Both tracks have been thoroughly club-tested by label head Matthew Anthony who has been dropping them in his sets over the last few months.

For a fresh take on Act Right, we tapped fellow Canadians Smalltown DJs who turned the clubby original into a festival floor-filler. On Head Game, Moody Recordings' Ben A turned things down a notch, spreading out Hookman's vocals to overtop a deep and dark warehouse beat.

Joluca is the combined efforts of Adam Johan and David Luca, a Canadian producer and DJ duo brought together by their love for peak-time rollers and studio jammin'.
