Chart topping dance music sensation Duke Dumont presents a new offering from his imprint and artist collective with ‘The Mara EP’ coming courtesy of fellow London-based producer and DJ, Kiwi. 

A sterling three-tracker, ‘The Mara’ can be heard alongside an edit from the label boss Duke Dumont himself and b-side addition ‘Gerenuk’.  

'Hearing the demo of ‘The Mara’, it made me regress to the time I spent in the rainforest, chilling with the Chieftains and drinking ayahuasca,” explains the Duke. 

“The obscure sounds of exotic bird mating calls which I heard are replicated in the synth chirps and tonal aspects of this track. Ultimately though, I signed the song because of the unique character Kiwi has created sonically. Character within electronic music is usually hard to find, but Kiwi has achieved this effortlessly.”

Before there was a label, there was the artist Perfect Driver, previous moniker for the imprint's mainstay, Matthew Anthony. Busy working behind the scenes and holding the title of founder, he is the talent behind our second-ever, original release "Crawl Into My Bed," accompanying listeners into their respective boudoirs with a rolling bassline and a tech savvy scramble of samples. Unleashed back in 2012, the track has recently (and serendipitously) been given the remix treatment thanks to fans that got creative with the original stems we posted online. Of all the submissions received, we compiled the ones that caught our attention into a Crawl Into My Bed remix EP, due out February 16.

No stranger to Perfect Driver's catalogue, Alex Index's remix starts off the Crawl Into My Bed EP with some massive warehouse vibes. Paying homage to early '90s house, Index uses an out-stretched octave of a fatty wet bass and high pianos to get dancers excited for the bedroom. UK talents Nina Wilde and 9Bar are up next boasting a wobble-laced edit with frequency flexing mid-range and carefree breakbeat. This version easily works in the beginning of a set and will soar during peak time. Still celebrating the release of the podcast he did for us last month, Brazil-based artist Kiyomura delivers a rave-ready rendition of the original. Well equipped to bring the heat to any dance floor, his remix comes armed with a hard kick drum, searing lo-fi sirens, chopped and screwed vocal edits, and a reworked bassline that would satisfy any 808 lover. Making her first official debut as a producing artist, Chicago native J.Worra gives us the last remix on the release with her percussion-heavy edit. Building intensity as it moves forward, the J.Worra remix slowly fades-in dark synths that weave around a deconstructed deep groove.

The vintage original is new again with these edits and we couldn't be more excited to share them with you.

Every so often we receive a demo submission which stops us in our tracks.  Something so perfectly funky with just the right vocal and bass work that we can't help but reach back to sign immediately.  Even less often does this demo come from someone virtually unheard of in terms of our producer family's social network. 

Head A&R Matthew Anthony says he was "pleasantly surprised" when he hit play as "the guys here at the label had never mentioned someone named https://soundcloud.com/kovaxx." After a few friendly emails with the artist we're happily passing the surprise onto the masses in the form of a 4 track debut EP, aptly named, 'Initiate.'  

Together in doing so, Kovaxx buckles down to deliver exemplary house music vibes with 'Babble,' 'Play The Game,' 'Rollin' and a stripped down 'VIP Mix' of EP's title track.  His aforementioned production deployment creatively spreads finely sculpted vocal chops, techy percussion bits and warm bass grooves across a sound canvas fit for a variety of party environments.
