Ruby Gill may not cook like your mum, but she is leaving permanent potholes in the status quo left by the likes of Joni Mitchell, Glen Hansard and Regina Spektor with career-defining grit, overwhelming honesty and unique insight into the worlds of birds, border security and panic attacks. 

Off the back of a sold-out tour of motherland South Africa, the songwriter unleashed gritty debut single "Your Mum" in November 2018 to hundreds of thousands of streams, playlists, radio rotation and rave global reviews from the likes of Triple J and The Wild Honey Pie in its first week. 

With a debut album in the works, Ruby's immense voice, heavy Jaguar, heavier piano and scarily vulnerable stage presence have been appearing on festivals around the world, from Oppikoppi to Woodford.

- multidisciplinary exhibition + album 'Hunger' coming out June 18th 2022 

This summer, the Kunsthal’s HALL 3 will feature ‘Hunger’: a multidisciplinary exhibition based on the autobiographical music of iET, the stage name of musician, singer-songwriter, and creator Lisa van Viegen-Mokoginta. After the birth of her daughter in 2018, iET’s world was suddenly reduced to the confines of her own home, hardly leaving her room for her enormous craving for creating and sharing. iET will take the audience on a visual, narrative, and above all musical journey past the contradictory feelings she experiences with regard to being a new parent on the one hand and her boundless ambition as an artist on the other.

Since the age of 10 I have been composing, and writing songs about my experiences in life.
The songs I created came in all shapes and styles as I experimented over the years from Pop, Folk, Rock and even Hip hop. Now I'm 24 and  iv written over 200 Songs.

I never had time to form my own band so I learn't most of the instruments on my own and arranged and produced my musical tracks on my own.

I see myself as a Songwriter for the people, and at times people and their stories have given me inspiration to write certain songs.

Werner Bekker is no ordinary folk artist. Growing up in a family of artists he traveled throughout South Africa during his short life. His father was a musician and as such he grew up with music fully embedded in his blood. At the age of 19 he is currently studying music at the Campus of Performing Arts in Johannesburg. Throughout his first year out of school he has made his presence felt by building up his name and performing alongside artists such as The Parlotones, The Black Cat Bones, Howie Combrinck, Justin Serrao and many more. He is on the verge of releasing his first EP entitled Herr Conductor. His music incorporates Rock, folk, indie and grunge elements that every music lover can relate with. Raw emotion is at the epicenter of his music and he can entertain massive crowds with amazing dinamic performances on both guitar and vocal levels. If you ever want to see a real life August Rush, this is it. And at the heart of his music lies an intense love for the music itself.

Mimi & the Sticks is a BAND of two.  Both from different music backgrounds and even countries.  One is from South Africa, and the other from France  -  they have walked the paths of many journeys to finally meet and blend the true expression of who they are and how they see the world.  MIMI & THE STICKS is a singer/songwriter on piano and vocals, and a drummer on percussions, drums, vocals and poetry.  Welcome to our world.
