Vista II

This example is very early - before take-selection (selecting the best/most natural takes that work with the rest of the material), any finesse, tuning and so on. This is the V2 solo cello which is the re-record that has improvements on the V1 solo cello (which will also be included of course). Light external verb used.

Improvised speedwrite done in three passes with no retakes, back-to-back (within ~6 min) - first cellos, then bone, then basses. 

Track by Jasper Blunk. All patches from Vista 2 (brass is bonus in the library). External verb used but nothing else on the master - all patches are extremely early. Brass isn't tuned yet. In this particular track the legato patch used is just one dynamic so it doesn't show the dynamic range yet (just volume on mod-wheel), however up to 12+. dynamics have been recorded for legatos so far. The challenge was to try to write a quick piece in a brief period of time with just Vista 2. Most mics are decca but close mixed in, in some cases (like cello legatos).  - JB

Example was basically just improvised in with a couple note changes after the fact. Patch is extremely early with next to no finesse or take selection. Sustains are not finalized either (sustain grafts, etc). The movement you hear in the sustains is to a degree representative of what will be in the final library, but will be somewhat masked as well by other dynamics playing at the same time and certain finalization protocols that have yet to be completed. But yes, there will be movement. In this particular example the legato patch used is just one dynamic so it doesn't show the dynamic range yet (just volume on mod-wheel), however up to 12+. dynamics have been recorded for legatos so far. In the current mapping this is dynamic 7 out of 12, meaning 6 dynamics below this one and 5 above. External verb used. Close + Decca mics.  - JB

Patches are early with next to no finesse or take selection (also no tuning, sustain finesses, grafts, take selection etc.. filter/legato finesse, interval work etc.. so you are bound to hear things rougher than usual). The movement you hear in the sustains is to a degree representative of what will be in the final library, but will be somewhat masked as well by other dynamics playing at the same time and certain finalization protocols that have yet to be completed. But yes, there will be movement. HIGHLIGHT: 5 BASSES PIZZ (LOWEST OCTAVE), 6 CELLOS SHORTS (ONE OF THE LIBRARY'S VARIATIONS), 12 VIOLINS SHORTS (ONE OF THE LIBRARY'S VARIATIONS), PIANO STACCATOS, R&D SOLO VIOLIN SHORTS (DETAILS BELOW)

Improv straight into the DAW so please excuse the messy playing. Patch is extremely early with zero take selection or timing (relying on natural timing of the players which is, as you can tell, going to end up with uneven pre-ambience which is super delicate.... i.e. not optimal for showing early examples of). Close + Decca for the string shorts - the ens. close mics have a little bit of high pass on them. External verb used but no further processing. Cello and violin ranges don't stack/interact with this example. 

Also lightly layered are some R&D (research and development) solo violin shorts done in that room which are in plans to extrapolate to dedicated solo shorts in the library - some of the new content that is in the books to be added. - JB
