 Davar Dove is from North Philadelphia and he has been rapping since he was 10 years old. Growing up in Philadelphia is no joke, and Davar has managed to overcome the battles and oppressions in a city where many people believe there is no hope. after getting into fist fights at school and dodging school gang wars Momma Dove had had enough and moved the young soldier down south to NC at the age of 14. It wasnt something he wanted but soon something he became appreciative of seeing a peaceful side of life with less gunshots. it was there in winston salem where he would go on to play football at the middle linebacker position. with a wild head coach and a former pow for defensive coordinator Dove learned toughness tenacity grit and intestinal fortitude alongside some of West Forsyths most notable alumni. in one of his toughest battles he missed an open field tackle causing the cross town rivals to win. that night right there was the start of a winning mentality. angry at himself for costing his teammates he began training for next season in his game uniform from the loss. noticing one of the lights to the old gym still on coach snow runs to check and finds an emotional Dove working out with tears in his eyes. fearing he'd over do it but cautious not to interrupt, the wise coach simply hugged him and said we'll get em. Getting accepted to Fayetteville State University ranked #23 in the nation out of all HBCU’s ended up being a wonderful opportunity for him to explore more options.  Rapping about things like Winning against hunger, poverty and homelessness to Ending racism is just some of the things that you will hear him rap about. His main goal is to create a life of financial prosperity for himself, his family and the people his music touches. In 2014 and 2015 he was featured on two of Fayetteville State Universities rap cyphers where him and ten others battled it out. Going first set the tone for the cypher and let everyone know he didn't come to play. From there he went on a streak of 20 or more live on-stage campus performances. In 2015 he won Best Lyrical Performance at an Apollo Style Homecoming Talent Show. One of the judges was Grammy Award Nominee and FSU’s concert choir director Denise Payton. Her dedication to her work and music inspired Davar to elevate the impact of his hip hop performance. Unfortunately, the financials of college overcame his ability to pay, so he came back home to North Philadelphia where it all started. This event officially started his hip hop career dropping his debut EP called Ambitions Elevated in 2016 which consisted of four songs and three tracks he released on Sound Cloud along with his single African Angels. In 2017 he started off the year by dropping his eight-track mixtape Litt Like Louis. He then followed that with his single Haitian Angels and ended the year with his 12-track hip-hop mixtape To Kill a Mockingbird. Dove is a hip hop generational leader and revolutionary and continuously worked on improving his pen even releasing his third mixtape " PaperMate Aggressions" which didnt boast nearly as many streams as his earlier works. determined to put the talent on the map between himself and rap peers the now 26 yr old took time away from music during the pandemic siting improvement as his number one goal. seeing the world shut down in so many public places touched the heart of Philly's Prophet who had all but retired out of family frustrations. yet sensing a need for spiritual recovery and financial ressurgence the "Haitian Angel" prayed and decided there is a need for a voice to be given for the voiceless and a presence in the city is needed for our community. kickin away early retirement rumours Dove has bounced back on the hiphop scene and is projected to release upcoming new music around early to mid February. music supporters and fans are encouraged to engage early and often as this season promises new records which is just the burst of energy america forgot she needed. enjoy!
