this was definitely a great night and i had so much fun opening for CREAM's second edition! this was my first time at Citylights Music Hall, amazing soundsystem and crew, packed dance floor, great friends on the line up, and much more on the floor vibing, even my sister! i surely had a blast! since i was the opening act had to build up slow and steady but the crowd came in hungry for the bangers and they were awesome! and well, everytime i can slip in some siriusmo it means i was all in for the gig <3

Kurup é conhecido por ser um DJ e seletor eclético. Da música tradicional e popular às vanguardas da Electronica, tudo se mistura com muita sensibilidade e habilidade, adaptando-se facilmente a cada local e situação. Renato Rocha, o artista por trás do projeto, nasceu em Brasília e atualmente mora em Lisboa. Formado em Artes Visuais pela UnB, a artista explora multilinguagens dentro da dualidade entre som e imagem. É DJ, Compositor, Ilustrador, Cenógrafo e Produtor Cultural. Como músico já lançou 6 EPs, vários singles, remixes e já fez turnês por mais de 20 países. Como produtor cultural já realizou mais de 30 eventos especialmente em Brasília e Lisboa mas também em São Paulo e Rio de Janeiro. at first i was in shock with the invitation to play at @namanteigaradio, since it's been many years i wished i could play there someday, and happyy and nervous i was. and for such a special day for me, i decided to make something completely different just cuz i don't really like making it easy for me. decided to take another detour from my most recent sets with faster BPMs to bring a diferent research that mixes some of my downtempo origins with reediting of classics, some psychedellic house and grooves, percussive collages made live, and tracks i have never played but love to listen at home, going around the world thru music till reaching back to the nest of music and humanity themselves in the beats of the batuque of some remixed afrobeats

this is my set for the second edition of Baleárica, and woah that was INTENSE! since the party evokes some disco flavors, and this edition was called verano fatale, i decided to go and have my interpretation of those summer madness with some mashups, loops, and samples to summon that discoish vibe with some italo disco, some remixed classics, a cassius oldie banger, but went on adding my new research on indie dance, house, downtempo, some turkish disco i love, and the nonstop layer of percussions and kick samples to fill the room with energy. the floor was lit and i sure had an amazing time during this gig!

it's been some time i've been going to the editions of baile baile and always loved how the dj/producers both make these both refreshing and nostalgic sets, full of the best kitsch energy possible and when i got invited to play there i thought i could try and play so many of those nostalgic beats i've listened to when i was a teenager so i went full on perrengue and just crammed many of those oldies i always loved and never thought i would ever play so many of them in one single set. from bob sinclair to stardust, from basement jaxx to armand van helden, the teen in me watching those videos on mcm felt really good for that, even though this is a set far from my comfortable zone, it is still very much inside my need to always try to be playing something unexpected. thanks a lot for that, baile baile!
