Reflection 1

It's Been Too Long - Persida, Reflection Theory

Singing has been a passion for Persida since the age of four when she discovered that music was her true calling. Born in communist Romania, she was brought up listening to classical music, including the works of Vivaldi, Beethoven, and Tchaikovsky. When Persida was 12, her family escaped to the United States. She completed five years of opera training in the USA, which provided her with a strong musical foundation. Growing up in a pop culture environment introduced her to new music and modern artists, inspiring her to explore different musical styles.

She soon began composing songs and melodies on the piano and performing with Reflection Theory, an electronic rock band in Dallas, TX. For years, Persida wrote songs and performed regularly in local clubs as the lead singer and dancer for Reflection Theory. During that time, the group enjoyed bringing a new flavor to Dallas by combining electronic beats, rock elements, and unique vocals into a sound that prompted Adam Medway, a UK Film Producer, and former dance editor at Getmusic International, to describe them as "Enya meets Pink Floyd at a Rave." Reflection Theory released their self-titled CD co-produced by Rob Wechsler, whose discography includes Erykah Badu, Olivia Newton-John, and Vanilla Ice.

The group's strong stage performances led to an invitation to play with the Petshop Boys. Due to the overwhelming response to that show, Reflection Theory was asked to play with Moby and Dirty Vegas at the Bronco Bowl in Dallas. That summer, the CPL Championships hosted a "Battle of the Bands" contest between Reflection Theory and ABOYANDAGIRL, a band signed to Warner Music. Over 4,000 gamers attended the conference, and after votes were tallied, Reflection Theory won with 71% of the vote. "Good, unadulterated carnage" -- USA Today. The performance also prompted David Laprad, music journalist for The Adrenaline Vault to say "It was perfect." He described Persida's singing, saying, "Her angelic vocals add a captivatingly emotional dimension to the group's songs."

Soon after, the song "It's Been Too Long", blending electronic and rock elements, was played on mainstream radio. The year ended with a sold-out New Year's Eve show at The Hard Rock Cafe, where more than 1000 people danced in the New Year.

In addition to her work with Reflection Theory, Persida ventured into other musical endeavors, such as singing the national anthem for a Dallas Stars Hockey game, providing the soundscape for a Dallas fashion show, and performing acoustic sets at various venues. 

Persida's motto is "Ground your feet, then let your spirit soar." In trying to find balance, a shift occurred when Persida decided to move to Los Angeles as well as pursue a career in the financial world. 

She obtained her CPA license and Master’s in Tax and established her own CPA firm specializing in the entertainment industry. Despite her success in the financial realm, Persida couldn't ignore her deep-seated need for music and creativity in her life. She has recently delved into producing house tracks while remaining open to collaborations within the electronic music space. Her journey demonstrates her resilience and determination to soar in both business and creative worlds.
