my imaginary friends (of which I have many) create durational performances that are based on improvisation, repetition, transients and resting.

They amplify bodies of sound by using microphones, turning material into a shared living scenery, making room for oneself, to carry the space and be carried, to locate consciousness as a rehearsal// so I listen to the bones in my fingers crack, my intestines, my shoulders pressing into the mattress. As resting figures// we lay down/ if I fall asleep, i’ll miss…without guilt/ our presence/ while I move in and out of focus, the sound persists.

Woedend is a Dutch music producer, poet, and DJ. His sound is bass-heavy, rebellious, and experimental, shaped by influences from dub, techno, dubstep, drum and bass, rap, and punk.

Woedend’s live performances are known for their intense energy, where personal experiences and societal frustrations seamlessly blend together. What truly sets Woedend apart is the integration of live poetry, performed in both Dutch and English. These spoken word performances, characterized by an expressive and anarchistic undertone, add a deeper layer to his music. Even when the language is not fully understood, the message is always felt.

The combination of poetry and bass-heavy, overwhelming sound is Woedend's way of processing and expressing complex emotions and social unrest. By merging words and music, he creates a space where listeners can not only lose themselves, but also reflect on both personal and collective frustrations. His music is an invitation to move, and to bring the world around us along for the ride.
