Persian poetry meets The Beatles in legendary Iranian popstar Aref's rare cover of "I Saw Her Standing There", performed in an Iranian 6/8 rhythm, dating back to the mid-60s and marking unique territory in his early discography🤘The Beatles had immense influence on the global rock music scene and Iran was no exception. Their songs were performed and covered by various Iranians artists at the time, and in fact this song was also covered in English by Shahram Shabpareh's band "The Rebels" in the 60s. «خوشحال و شاد و خندانم» از محبوب‌ترین ترانه‌های کودکانه ایران است.
شاعر این ترانه، عباس یمینی شریف (۱۲۹۸–۱۳۶۸)، از پیشگامان ادبیات کودکان ایران و فارغ‌التحصیل دانشگاه کلمبیا بود. این شعر برای اولین بار در سال ۱۳۵۶ توسط هنگامه مفید (یاشار) اجرا شد و خیلی زود به محبوبیت رسید. پس از انقلاب، ناصر نظر آن را بازسازی کرد و در سال ۱۳۸۳ در آلبوم ترانه شادی با صدای شهرزاد بهشتیان و همخوانی گروهی از کودکان منتشر شد. این ترانه بخشی از خاطرات کودکان دیروز و امروز ایران است.

“Khoshhal o Shad o Khandanam” (“Happy and Joyful”) is one of the most beloved Iranian children’s songs.
Written by Abbas Yamini Sharif (1919–1989), a pioneer of modern children’s literature in Iran, it was first performed in 1977 by Hangameh Mofid (Yashar), whose rendition became a favorite on Iranian TV and radio. After the revolution, it was re-arranged by Nasser Nazar and re-released in 2004 on the album Taraneh Shadi, performed by Shahrzad Beheshtian with a children’s choir.

This jazz reinterpretation blends cheerful childhood nostalgia with smooth Persian jazz colors — a reminder of joy across generations.
