Hot Digits Music reaches its eighth year with another HUGE compilation of all EXCLUSIVE material from the cream of the underground disco, nu-disco, house and balearic scene with something for every dancefloor. Rising newcomers such as Leon Dahl, Pete Ellison and Liam Dunning rub shoulders with stalwart names on the scene such as Fingerman, C.Da Afro, Get To Know, Stephen Richards and Jet Boot Jack for a huge ultra funky blend of original material and tasteful reworks for warm ups or peak time action. The Samosa Funk Show returned to the Myhouseradio.fm airwaves last week with the legendary duo of Les Inferno and De Gama at the helm and ready to teach your ear canals a thing or two about music. 	
	
For the first hour, Les Inferno treats us to a recent live set recorded at Soho Hotel in Rome. This is arguably Les Inferno at his best - outdoors, free and feeling the groove. You’re gonna love it. No track listing for this one, just get your ears around it.
	
De Gama takes the wheel for the second hour, with a set that literally dazzles you with sunshine vibes. Expect a smooth journey through genres, featuring tracks from the likes of Paul Older, Fingerman, Sweet Daddy Floyd, Dimitri From Paris and LTJ Experience. Boom!

This week's special guest is Charly Angelz from Adelaide. I've been a fan of her music for a while now, and she's delivered a series of stunning DJ mixes for other radio shows over the past year, along with releasing her own epic tracks. It's a pleasure to welcome her to the show.

Charly Angelz spent the best part of 2020 working in the studio
during the COVID lockdown producing a string of house & disco tracks in the process! Having lost her DJ residencies like so many other DJ’s due to the pandemic, Charly quickly decided to act on her creativity by jumping into the world of music production!

Charly's first forays into making music coupled with her broad music knowledge and influence has helped her gain instant recognition!, with her tracks being signed to the likes of Tropical Disco, Plastik People, Kolour Recordings, Nervous Records, Blockhead Recordings, Smashing Trax, Disco Balls, Groovy Riddim and more!

With plenty of support from many reputable DJ’s, numerous high
chart positions including number 1’s. Charly is already accomplishing her goal by connecting with people through her
music. She’s on a mission to bring people together; especially
during these tough times and she’ll continue to strive to make
people groove and feel happy!

Episode 89 saw me cram in a good variety of oldies alongside a load of new bits too. I took the route of starting slow and building up instead of jumping around the BPMs, kicking things off with my new one on the excellent Hot Gorilla compilation that’s storming the Junodownload charts right now. Building through a succession of new and old tunes covering funk, disco and a few flavours of house, I brought you promos from FF Edits, Le Croque, Sam Redmore, Reece Johnson, Chemars, Workerz and myself. 

In hour 2 I present to you a wonderfully funky guest mix from Madrid’s Da Groove Brothers. This one is right up my street - the sort of music I love but don’t know enough about… sleazy, fonky, lower tempo tunes full of vocoders, crisp beats and bendy synths. Really loved this little journey, and I hope you’ll enjoy it too. Don’t forget to show them some love on the socials…

Funkier Radio Episode 89 - Da Groove Brothers Guest Mix

This week's show was a Sunshine Special, with the most uplifting tracks to tempt out the sun during a rainy week in the UK. My special guest was Ewan Mack, a talented DJ who caught my ear when I heard him as a guest on other radio shows. I'm delighted for Ewan to bring his uplifting vibe to the show

** EWAN MACK BIO **
Hailing from Aberdeen but now living in Edinburgh, Ewan's love of music started from an early age when he started to listen to soul, funk and disco. In 1993, Ewan started listening to Pete Tong's Essential Selection and Essential Mix shows and his love of house music started.

A pair of belt drive turntables and basic mixer were purchased shortly afterwards and Ewan started DJing at house parties while at University. The belt drives were soon upgraded to 1210s which he still uses to this day.

Almost 30 years on Ewan still likes to collect a broad range of disco and soulful house-music although the tempo has moderated over the years. He makes regular recordings to share with like-minded music fans and has featured on the Even Funkier radio show and the Disco Waltons show on NDC Radio.

He references Graeme Park, MAW, Dave Lee, Norman Jay, Dimitri from Paris and Frankie Knuckles as major influencers.

On The Dancefloor Vol.8 -Christmas Special-

London-based DJ and producer Pete Ellison has been spinning music for 25 years and has a passion for funk and disco, blending sounds of the 70s with house beats, vocal samples and chunky basslines.

He broadcasts a weekly show on NDC Radio called the "Feel Good Friday Show", with a special guest each week from the Nu-Disco world. The show won the award of "Best Radio Show" at the OGV Music Awards in 2022. 

He's had releases on Super Spicy Records, Discoholics Anonymous, Mango Sounds, Spa In Disco and Hot Digits. Two of his tracks have hit the Number 1 spot on Juno Download.  

He runs a London DJ collective called Serendipity who throw underground events and boat parties. He has played at dozens of London clubs,  and has played at festivals, boat parties, woodland raves, Ibiza pool parties and even the dungeon of a French chateau. Long DJ sets are a speciality, with his longest ever DJ performance being an epic 8-hour set.


Pete is also part of The Disco Waltons, a group of International DJs and Disco Lovers who came together during lockdown through their love of music. They host a Sunday night show on NDC Radio, playing on rotation with special guests

As well as Funk, Soul and Disco, he plays Melodic Techno, House and Progressive House
