Proudly presenting the latest instalment from Black Light Disco - another fun-packed two hours of disco funkiness clamouring to get out into the wild. 

For the show airing on New York's MyHouseRadio.fm on Monday 29th June 2020 we had our top BLD Sonic Consultant and chief of all things groovy, Goz taking the captain's chair for the first hour. This set moves effortlessly between deep and disco, with a hint of a harder edge from Goz we rarely see, but love it when it comes out to play. 

For the second hour we have a producing duo who need no introductions (but we will, because they're ace and we were delighted to get them on board) - the J&M Brothers!

Haling from Southern  Spain, the J&M Brothers have been forging a strong reputation for quality productions and as selectors of a unique sound for some time now. Working with a host of different artists such as Jay West, Joeski, Soul Minority, Johnny Fiasco and Pablo Fierroto name but a few, the J&M Brothers have a whole host of releases under their belts for several huge labels including Salted Music, Defected In The House, Hed Kandi, I Records and Kolour Recordings. You'll also see plenty of releases on their own label, (and one of BLD's favourites)the amazing Good Stuff Recordings. This set is an absolute masterclass in scene setting and includes plenty of their own work.

Hot-stepping into the disco jungle, Hot Gorilla is a joint project between Conan The Selector and Andy Buchan (Andy is still working on his cool DJ alias name…!) With hundreds of releases between them and years of DJing together, they’ve come together under the Hot Gorilla guise for some serious monkey business.
Launched in 2020, the label blurs the lines between disco, funk, house and reworked edits, and comes at you with one aim and one aim only - to make you go bananas on the dancefloor.

Goz & Hot Gorilla Records - Spin City Vol 143

Welcome to your weekly dose of funk, soul and disco! This week's special guest is Smashed Atoms, the musical alter-ego of Steve Gladdis, a North-London-based producer and DJ.

Steve started his musical journey as a drummer, then began DJing in the late 1990s, manning the decks at underground parties, bars and clubs in London throughout the next two decades.  

In recent years,Steve has turned to production, releasing Solar Flare, his first EP, in 2014. Since then he’s released a number of EPs, put out two 12" vinyl releases on his own Magic Circles Music label, and featured on compilations from Too Slow To Disco, Paper Recordings and Hot Digits.

Cut This Way, which became the lead track on the fourth Smashed Atoms EP, featured in sets from Greg Wilson, Peza and Chris Massey, and caught the ear of Gregg Holmes (aka Fingerman), who released the EP on Hot Digits Music. Cut This Way hit number one in Junodownload's disco chart, with airplay on Nemone's Electric Ladyland show on BBC Radio 6Music. 

The new Smashed Atoms EP ‘Moving Parts’ will arrive soon including a collaboration with singer Kathy Diamond.

Steve loves the ethos of the eras just before and just after the original disco peak period, when DJs played music from any genre as along as it sounded good on a dancefloor, and he brings that eclectic approach to his DJing and productions. You can hear more of his music via the link below:

Goz & Boogietraxx - Spin City Vol 145

Black Light Disco sashayed back to the MyHouse Radio airwaves on Monday 27th July 2020 with an all residents show which oozed class from every disco valve and outlet.

Starting the proceedings we had BLD resident, Spin City head honcho and super-talented tune wrangler, Goz, who delivered a set that was like walking in a velvet pair of slippers across a carpet of clouds. This is Goz at his very best - taking the listener on a sonic journey through lower tempo, hazy grooves that warm the soul.

For the second hour, Goz's partner in crime Ste H (aka Esteban) ups the tempo a notch, showcasing some jazz-infused funky joints along with some harder-edged disco sounds and beats. The two sets compliment each other massively and the end result is two hours of sublime music from some of the hottest producers and labels out there right now.

Fran Deeper - FA FRED EN ES CARRER - October Disco 2020 Mix

London-based DJ and producer Pete Ellison has been spinning music for 25 years and has a passion for funk and disco, blending sounds of the 70s with house beats, vocal samples and chunky basslines.

He broadcasts a weekly show on NDC Radio called the "Feel Good Friday Show", with a special guest each week from the Nu-Disco world. The show won the award of "Best Radio Show" at the OGV Music Awards in 2022. 

He's had releases on Super Spicy Records, Discoholics Anonymous, Mango Sounds, Spa In Disco and Hot Digits. Two of his tracks have hit the Number 1 spot on Juno Download.  

He runs a London DJ collective called Serendipity who throw underground events and boat parties. He has played at dozens of London clubs,  and has played at festivals, boat parties, woodland raves, Ibiza pool parties and even the dungeon of a French chateau. Long DJ sets are a speciality, with his longest ever DJ performance being an epic 8-hour set.


Pete is also part of The Disco Waltons, a group of International DJs and Disco Lovers who came together during lockdown through their love of music. They host a Sunday night show on NDC Radio, playing on rotation with special guests

As well as Funk, Soul and Disco, he plays Melodic Techno, House and Progressive House
