After a two week break, I was back behind the decks for another funky Friday session. Joining me for the second hour was Philoop 2.0, a talented DJ from Italy whose soundcloud mixes made a big impression on me. He has impeccable taste in all things funk and disco, and put together an epic mix of 25 tracks for his guest mix.

I've been chatting with Filippo for a few weeks over email, and I would like to share his words about being on the show, which makes this all worth while :-)

Return To The Classics Vol 1

Anybody who has followed me over these past few years will know that Michael Gray’s original production’s and remixes feature heavily in my sets. Everything he touches turns to gold and I look forward to every one of his releases. I have followed Michael’s career for almost 30 years now and decided it’s definitely time I paid tribute to his masterful work. I wanted to create a compilation combining old with new, mixing some of my favourite tracks from his early days as his aliases Robot man and Full Intention with music partner Jon Pearn such as Ready For This, Tears, So In Love With You, I Love America and Sweetest Day Of May with some of his latest releases like his excellent remixes of Reel People - Can’t Stop, The Sgt. Slick version of the Adeva classic - I Thank You and Donna Allen’s - Serious as well his his latest releases on his own Sultra Record Label like Invincible and the fantastic Promo version of his latest release - Never Let You Down. I wanted this tribute to feature tracks that I haven’t previously used in any of my sets already available on Soundcloud, the few tracks that have already featured, on this one I have played the equally as good Dub versions. The set has 32 amazing tracks, 5 of which are as of yet Unreleased DJ Only remixes. I really hope everyone enjoys listening to this mix as much as I have compiling and recording it. I would also like to say a huge thank you to the main man himself Michael Gray for all of his fantastic hard work over these past decades for giving us all this wonderful music, I Can’t wait to see what you produce in the future !!

Lee, a DJ & producer living in London, is a veteran of all things house & disco. He brings his experience from his days playing as part of an underground party collective known as Most Excellent putting gigs on across South London. We're so glad he's found some time in his busy schedule to do us a mix. 

Up next our special guest is the wonderful DJ Jeff Rogers from Florida USA. Ep132 - Lee Evans and DJ Jeff R - Disco Waltons Sunday Service (26th Nov 2023)

London-based DJ and producer Pete Ellison has been spinning music for 25 years and has a passion for funk and disco, blending sounds of the 70s with house beats, vocal samples and chunky basslines.

He broadcasts a weekly show on NDC Radio called the "Feel Good Friday Show", with a special guest each week from the Nu-Disco world. The show won the award of "Best Radio Show" at the OGV Music Awards in 2022. 

He's had releases on Super Spicy Records, Discoholics Anonymous, Mango Sounds, Spa In Disco and Hot Digits. Two of his tracks have hit the Number 1 spot on Juno Download.  

He runs a London DJ collective called Serendipity who throw underground events and boat parties. He has played at dozens of London clubs,  and has played at festivals, boat parties, woodland raves, Ibiza pool parties and even the dungeon of a French chateau. Long DJ sets are a speciality, with his longest ever DJ performance being an epic 8-hour set.


Pete is also part of The Disco Waltons, a group of International DJs and Disco Lovers who came together during lockdown through their love of music. They host a Sunday night show on NDC Radio, playing on rotation with special guests

As well as Funk, Soul and Disco, he plays Melodic Techno, House and Progressive House
