This week's show is all about downtempo grooves, with an extra special guest set from The Magic Track, who played a VINYL ONLY session of slow jams.

The Magic Track are a DJ and Producer duo from Hungary, Gio and DRJ,  with a real passion for house and disco. They exploded onto the dance scene last year with their productions, releasing a flood of quality disco bangers which were widely praised and widely played.  

GIO was raised on classic house and techno, and was also influenced by the sound of the 80's electro and synth-funk sound. Whereas DRJ grew up on 80's pop, indie, and UK punk.  It was inevitable that these guys would work together. They both love the classic funk and soul from the 70s and this is what they mix with brand new and recent house, disco, afro, brazil, indie dance and nu disco tunes.

Their producer career was only started last year, through And Friends Records, and in the last seven months Magic releases came out on Mango Sounds, Hive Label and Furious Mandrill too. Their tracks have been played by Fingerman, Pete Herbert, Stephen Richards, Mannix, Paul Older, Igor Gonya etc.

Their latest single, ‘Your Wife, My Vibe’ was released on Moiss Music Black in April. New Magic EP's are coming soon on Tropical Disco Records, Hot Digits Music, Furious Mandrill Records, and Super Spicy Records; and the guys are also signed their first 3 vinyl records to be released in 2021.

More sunbathed melodies this week are coming from Madrid, Spain, and a well-respected DJ and producer from the disco and house scene and owner of Night Shift Records, Javi Frias.
 
His musical journey began when he started collecting funky records as a young soul boy in his hometown of Madrid. Now he travels the world, spreading love, and rocking parties, through his eclectic DJ sets full of sultry disco edits, boogie bombs, and soulful house sounds. 
As a producer, he has recently started making noise with a series of impressive edits and reworks, which have been published on a handful of EPs and singles with influential labels including Street Edits, Tropical Disco, Midnight Riot, and Boogie Café. 

His music has been supported by disco heavyweights such as Danny Krivit, Red Greg, Horse Meat Disco, Jacques Renault, and Joey Negro, whom he has also shared the decks with at his own famed Discotizer parties at Marula Cafe Madrid. Connecting all the disco dots, Javi also has his own label ‘Night Shift Records’ where he has predominantly released a series of his own club-ready re-edits, as well as working with Never Dull and Chassé. 

The disco flame continues to burn, and Javi has plenty in the pipeline for 2022 and beyond.

Hour two saw Glasgow based  Dj and host of the Hous' You Doin' Radio Show on Groove City- Dava Mac. Dava put together a great hour and closed the show in style, as expected.

Young Pulse : Boogie To the Top - 12 Janvier 2021

London-based DJ and producer Pete Ellison has been spinning music for 25 years and has a passion for funk and disco, blending sounds of the 70s with house beats, vocal samples and chunky basslines.

He broadcasts a weekly show on NDC Radio called the "Feel Good Friday Show", with a special guest each week from the Nu-Disco world. The show won the award of "Best Radio Show" at the OGV Music Awards in 2022. 

He's had releases on Super Spicy Records, Discoholics Anonymous, Mango Sounds, Spa In Disco and Hot Digits. Two of his tracks have hit the Number 1 spot on Juno Download.  

He runs a London DJ collective called Serendipity who throw underground events and boat parties. He has played at dozens of London clubs,  and has played at festivals, boat parties, woodland raves, Ibiza pool parties and even the dungeon of a French chateau. Long DJ sets are a speciality, with his longest ever DJ performance being an epic 8-hour set.


Pete is also part of The Disco Waltons, a group of International DJs and Disco Lovers who came together during lockdown through their love of music. They host a Sunday night show on NDC Radio, playing on rotation with special guests

As well as Funk, Soul and Disco, he plays Melodic Techno, House and Progressive House
