When I first heard the original from Fred, I felt the need to put my own touch on it, in order to express the feelings I was having during the pandemic. The longing to DJ'ing. The longing to dance and to share the love for the music, in a nightclub full of people. I've been playing this edit in my sets over the last year and now that the pandemic looks like it's almost over, I thought it was a good time to finally put it up online.

Rhythms of the Heart and Soul

DJ Sentimental, also known as Amanda Leja, began her DJ journey in 2019 alongside her father, who helped her take her first steps into the entertainment industry. Her initial experience was gained at private events, where DJ Sentimental quickly realized that her passion was to entertain people with music. In 2023, she decided to elevate her skills to a professional level and enrolled in the Riga DJ School.

This decision proved to be quite successful, as within less than a year, DJ Sentimental made significant progress in developing her DJ skills. Her first public 2-hour DJ set took place at the Maze club in the fall of 2023. Following that, she performed at multiple raves, delighting audiences with powerful hard techno and hypertechno beats. In less than a year, DJ Sentimental has performed at several popular bars and clubs in Riga, such as Maze, Oneone, and Zakuska. In the summer of 2024, she participated in the Evolution DJ battle competition, during which she also performed on one of the stages at the Positivus Festival. Since DJ Sentimental loves energetic and diverse music, she was invited to perform a nearly 2-hour full-on psytrance set at the Valnis festival. The most memorable event of the summer of 2024 and the highest personal achievement in her DJ career was participating in the Vīru Spēles DJ battle, where DJ Sentimental took first place.

The name “DJ Sentimental” also holds significance, reflecting her personality—she is sentimental and has a special love for the music of the 80s and 90s. Her sets are crafted to evoke nostalgia and sentiment, taking listeners back to a time when "the grass was greener, and the skies were bluer." Her performances are always full of energy and emotion. She draws inspiration from world-class artist performances and always strives to make them unique, enjoyable, and energetic, captivating her audience. With DJ Sentimental, each performance is a journey that reminds us of music’s ability to connect hearts and souls, bringing us back to a time where every note created an unforgettable feeling.
