LineØrCircle has been behind the decks since he was barely toilet-trained, when he rifled through his parents’ vast and eclectic record collection and started experimenting with the controls on their old walnut-veneered record player. He grew up in a profoundly musical household, his parents being professional musicians who put him into classical piano and jazz guitar lessons from the moment he had enough motor control in his hands to hold a guitar pick.

He is nonetheless a completely self-taught DJ, buying all the necessary gear with money saved up from a part-time job as a dishwasher and learning by bringing a new piece of musical technology home, plugging it in, and pushing all the buttons until something happened. The first record he bought was a now-out-of-print EP of Anouar Brahem, Les pats du chat noir which includes “Leila au pays du carrousel”.

He began playing in local bars and clubs in his hometown of Beirut, getting his first break when the DJ called in sick at a local pub where he washed dishes. He soon blew up in Beirut and began playing in Decks On the Beach. He has since enjoyed immense success, blowing up dance floors across the globe (OK, OK, mostly around Venues in Beirut) to sold-out crowds. He has shared the decks with the likes of Nick Warren, Sebastien Leger, Kiasmos, Gorje Hewek & Izhevski to name a few.

He is also a prolific and respected producer, having released two albums and 10 EPs since he got up this morning. His most recent mega-hit track has been charted by every single fucking DJ listed on Resident Advisor and Discogs combined, with support from all the leading DJs signed to any label that ever mattered—plus his grandma.

LineOrCircle musical genres reflects his eclectic influences—from high-modernist integral serialism to jazz-funk fusion to Armenian epic poetry to oriental—all distilled down to pure, crystalline minimal techno. He’s not limited to minimal techno, instead combining disco, slow house, Ketapop, electronic and deep house to create a new sound that the entire staff of Pitchfork has been trying to name for the last year (the senior what-is-this-electronica-crap editor suggested “jigglestep” and then resigned in shame).

Recently, this guy has been collaborating with artists and producers to create “Living Room Sessions” - Beirut. A concept where the crowd can get intimate with the producers, inviting artists to play live and not mix on decks. He has been all over Europe and the MENA Region searching for new talents to boost this concept. LineOrCircle is now a sound explorer, a frequency designer and noise maker...

1st part was recorded live for the warmup I did for Sasha at Sonorama, Medellin and then we continue with a lovely guestmix by JFR in the 2nd part of the show. JFR has released in our label Clubsonica a great EP which is currently making it to the top of the charts and that has 2 outstanding remixes from jimboh and Deviu (https://www.beatport.com/release/kira-zulu/3644922). Juan Franco Rivero aka JFR hails from Mendoza and has been rising out of Argentina's progressive house underground since making his debut in 2017. Antrim's Strangers Beats and Madloch's 3rd Avenue have served as landing spots for his melodic sound. 2021 proved to be a breakout year for JFR, as the Argentine continued his upward trajectory with standout releases for UK behemoth Anjunadeep, Dreamers and the fast-rising Nature Rec. World class DJ Hernan Cattaneo has also taken a liking to JFR's sound, featuring the Argentine's music in both his live and radio sets on multiple occasions.

Nima Sarshar was born in 1997 in Tehran, Iran. He started his Music career & Djing at the age of 18. 

Since the beginning he started to create music with no limitations in style, which is based more on transforming his feelings in sounds and tries to provide an escape to drift and dream, a journey through life in a song form.

Launching his career at the turn of the century, he quickly became famous for his DJing skills as a resident at Madrid hotspots Circus, Pasapoga and more. After living in the UK and US, Luis returned home with new ambition and began releasing music on a number of influential labels including Suara, Toolroom and Armada. ​

Opening the EP with 'Echoes of Love', bongo grooves and delicate pads make way for triplet bass and wild reverbed sweeps. Warm and inviting, the track builds up a head of steam mid way with new melodics and bass layers adding depth and interest. Argentinian trio Forma, aka Juan Hansen, Pablo Damian and Rocio Giorgi, make their Anjunadeep debut with their three-track EP ‘In Control’. With releases on Edu Imbernon’s Fayer imprint, Spectrum Spools and The Bunker New York, the trio have taken their sound global, playing live performances in countries including Brazil, USA, Canada and China.

Title track ‘In Control’ opens with the EP, combining lush synths with warm vocals courtesy of band member Rocio. ‘Still Alive’ features broken beats and vocal chops whilst ‘Hold You’ leads with vocals from Pablo. The trio’s latest demonstrates their unique blend of synth pop and dance music that has seen them supported by Gorgon City and Nandu.

Brighton-based DJ and producer Braxton returns to Anjunadeep with his three-track EP ‘SpaceTime’.

Since his debut on Anjunadeep with ‘When The Sun Goes Down’, Braxton has been steadily earning a reputation in the dance scene as a formidable producer, with a number of solo production including his recent release with Lauren L’aimaint ‘Holding On’, and remixes for the likes of RÜFÜS DU SOL, Tourist and Grades that have won him support from BBC Radio 1 and Sirius XM.

A fan favourite from the label’s flagship compilation Anjunadeep 13, Braxton teams up with Jody Wisternoff & James Grant on ‘SpaceTime’, featuring vocals from Ursula Rucker. ‘The River’ features a bold bass and lush pads whilst EP closer ‘(Don’t) Wake Me Up’ leads with break beat drums characterstic to Braxton’s sound. Braxton’s latest EP demonstrates why he’s been supported by Eelke Kleijn, Sasha and Eli & Fur.

The release of Crosstown Rebels’ SPIRITS compilation is always a bastion moment for the label. The first edition came to prominence in 2017 and we’ve been graced with an annual compilation ever since, showcasing a consistent habit to champion established artists and breakthrough ones alike. Now, Crosstown Rebels’ lauded SPIRITS series will see the light of day once more in June, with the release of SPIRITS V.

“Compiling the Spirits compilations and sourcing the artists that create the artwork for the sleeves is one of my favourite annual jobs for Crosstown. I get to sift through all the best music being sent to me and find a way to make a cohesive one stop shop full of underground battle weapons and future club hits whilst also setting the tone for the sound of the label in any given year. NYC-native Layla Benitez leads proceedings with Fides, a progressive-leaning, introspective number that retains an inherent danceability throughout. It kicks off the compilation with a driving energy, one that’s perfectly matched by Trabajar - the Crosstown Rebels debut of recent Hot Creations inductee Mr.Diamond.

A techy-inspired cut, punchy four-four drum patterns create a distinctive late-night feel, as UK-talent Denney soon arrives with Kill The Soundboy. Showcasing the groove-laced house sound with which he’s become best known, the near seven-minute piece is sure to light up many a club setting this year, paving the way for Talk To Me. It’s a collaborative venture between Munich-based artist ASK:ME and El Muerto, with Soulfoot featuring on vocals. Retaining a vintage Detroit style, the fast-paced tempo creates a natural excitement before Romanian-born mainstay GruuvElement’s gifts us the minimal-toned Boom Room.

Building with tribal-like percussion and salsa-inspired instrumentals, it’s a playful excursion into dance music’s outer realms, paving the way for young Peruvian producer Chinonegro with My Moment. Whether it be the pluck of a guitar string or a jazzy trumpet solo, there’s an inherent authenticity to the six-minute piece, as a mid-track breakdown gives way to whispering hats and a rhythmic underlying backbone. 

The penultimate offering comes from French-born, London-based regular Maglia, who serves up the enchanting Rayiys. The chirping of birds reside atop an ever-changing bassline, leaving us open and ready for the VA’s closing saga: Thanks Moon, by Spain’s I AM JAS. A heady combination of beautiful lyrical contributions combine with softly moving electronic elements, to leave us in a state of calm, inward reflection. Rounding off proceedings on a note of quietude, it reminds us of the final moments in clubland, transporting our psyche to sunrise, fond memories and everything in between.

Over a period of nineteen years, Damian Lazarus’ Crosstown Rebels has evolved into a world-renowned institution, garnering global audiences thanks to a consistent schedule of quality releases. In years since it’s earliest beginnings, the likes of Maceo Plex, Art Department, Seth Troxler, Ali Love, Mathew Jonson, Pier Bucci, Acid Pauli, Dennis Kurtel, Francesca Lombardo, Glimpse, Aphrohead, Fur Coat and a plethora of other figureheads have all found their home on the label.

UK producer Joseph Ashworth returns to Anjunadeep with a remix of Jon Gurd’s ‘Emergence’, taken from his recently released album ‘Phoenix’.

Utilising the original melodies, Ashworth adds breakbeat drums and a house inspired vocal sample. With previous releases on Life & Death, Get Weird and ELEMENTS, Ashworth has gained support from all corners of the electronic music scene including Lee Burridge, DJ Tennis and Patrice Bäumel.

Out in April, ‘Phoenix’ has gained support from tastemaker DJs including Eelke Kleijn, Shadow Child, Joris Voorn and Nick Warren and has amassed over 250k streams.

‘Phoenix’ is the latest album to be released on Anjunadeep, described by Billboard as “one of dance music’s ultimate tastemaker labels”. The label is known for discovering talents like Lane 8, Dusky, Yotto, and Ben Böhmer.

Jon Gurd - Emergence (Joseph Ashworth Remix)

Sydney and Los Angeles based Classical Pianist/Composer Van-Anh Nguyen and
DJ/Drummer/Producer Mark Olsen blend their two worlds together to form a unique
dreamy mix of acoustic and electro sounds. Ranging from ambient soundscapes to
Melodic House, Double Touch brings their live musicianship deep into their creations.
Double Touch are official All Day I Dream artists with multiple releases and
performances at the All Day I Dream events around the world.Their shows are a
unique blend of a traditional DJ set and live performances, adding in live keys and
drums, improvising new directions into their music during their live sets. The synergy
and connection between the two is contagious from the stage.
After Lee Burridge played 3 Double Touch songs in his MIXLAB NYC set, Double
Touch emerged onto the scene in 2019 with their debut EP on All Day I Dream –
“Adagio” which took out the No.1 releases spot on Beatport (Electronica/Downtempo)
as well as appeared in the Top 100’s in other genres. Since then, they have released
everything from downtempo music on Buddha Bar, through to their club style on
TrybesOf.Their Chorophobia EP (TrybesOf) hit Top 5 (Melodic House/Techno) on
Beatport.Their debut single “Broken Paradise was also featured on a Ministry of Sound
compilation CD.
Double Touch have performed their DJ set with live instrumentation at events all
around the globe, including Return to Rio Festival 2019 (Australia), Cercle (Omnia
Indonesia), Golden Gate Park (San Francisco, USA), Cloud 9 (Fiji), Glow Rooftop
(Vietnam) and Omnia Bali (Indonesia).
With radio plays and support from artists such as Lee Burridge, Sebastien Leger,
RUFUS, Above & Beyond, Facundo Mohrr, Roy Rosenfeld, Guy Mantzur, and Nora en
Pure,Double Touch are off to a great start, with much more to come.
