Nocturne : a night of wonders

Starting off 2025, the new year, with a bit of uncertainty.
A life- choices theme? An Economic cautionary tale?
I prefer the political application of the Latin "Buyer Beware". The application came, in the US in November, turning back progress. In Canada, Trudeau has just announced his resignation. Buyer Beware, or to use Joni Mitchell's words, "You don't know what you've got til it's gone, they paved paradise (progress) and put up a parking lot (or oil pipelines, or coal mines, or trying to threaten neighbours and make enemies of friends). But the people knew what they were doing when they created this mess...or were they victims of social media, filters, throttles, algorithms, and moneyed influence peddling?

A dark musical synth-based veneer, casts a brooding affect over the listener, though, if the message is heard, embraced, and a direction changed, a hint of optimism may yet prevail.

"The Fortune Teller’s Dissonance" explores the balance between order and chaos. It begins with floating, atmospheric layers and suspended chords, building a subtle tension. Gradually, the melody fractures, rhythms clash, and the sonic texture thickens. The structure unravels in waves, giving way to a storm of sound where each element struggles for dominance. An organic progression that takes the listener from a contemplative state to an unpredictable sonic explosion.
