My special guest this week is Greg Middleton, who first began DJing and collecting vinyl in the early 90s. He introduced himself on the DJ scene by spinning various forms of house music at events in Birmingham and Coventry before moving onto playing at famous venues in London such as SW1 and The Cross.

Throughout the 00s, he regularly went to, and occasionally played at, Brixton-based club night Gettin’ Hectic, where the music policy was far more eclectic and varied, but still absolutely rocking. Inspired by these influential club nights, and the emerging Edits scene in the latter part of that decade, Greg set about developing his own eclectic style, all underpinned by two key ingredients: groove and soul.
Greg has since held a three-year residency at one of London’s long-established venues, the Big Chill Bar, gaining a reputation for his epic, genre-hopping sets spanning Funk, Soul, Hip-Hop, Disco, Nu-Disco, House and beyond.

In 2018, he started his own club night in South-West London - Borderline - bringing his eclectic, funky vibe to the local area and culminating in several sold out events. When COVID-19 hit in March 2020, Greg launched the virtual Borderline Lockdown Sessions, doing live streams on Saturday nights throughout the pandemic, with lively chatrooms and a growing following.

Priding himself on spinning different sets each time out, his meticulous track selection and coherent blend of different genres will be sure to keep your attention from start to finish.

If there’s anyone who prompts the question “When does he find time to make that?” it’s serial editor and remixer Pete Le Freq. For more than 20 years he’s been reworking disco and funk classics as label boss of Alpaca Edits and Llama Farm Recordings, updating originals with a distinctive dance‑floor edge. His prolific remixes have been played by DJs worldwide — he’s a regular at Beatherder, made his Ring stage debut this summer alongside Utah Saints and Jaegerossa, and is a Mastermix remixer alongside Ben Liebrand, Sgt Slick and DJ S. He’s shared decks with Young Pulse, Michael Gray, Craig Charles, Dr Packer and Jo Whiley, and already has dates booked for 2026. 

Simply put:  he makes what he loves in the headphones come out the big speakers.
