It was my turn in the @discowaltons hot seat this week, taking over the controls for the first hour of the show, before handing over to our special guests, DJ duo from Hackney in London, Late Night Disco @latenightdisco

For the past 8 years LND have been filling dance floors up and down the country, bring their love of disco and feel-good edits while supporting heavy hitters such as Dave Lee, Dr Packer and Dimitri from Paris.

And with monthly and bi-monthly residencies at Number 90, Hackney Wick and Sushi Samba, these guys continue to build their reputation across the capital and beyond.

My co-host @gregmiddleton was back in the hotseat this week - throwing down some new jams and a couple from the crates in the first hour, before handing over to his special guest, fellow London-based DJ, Ian Perry. @dj-ian-perry

Ian has been DJing for over 20 years across many venues in London, with a huge passion for Disco, House and everything in between. He is well-known for being part of DJ duo DeepNDisco, with his long time friend, Nick Standen, beginning with a residency in 2016 at established Croydon night, Funkme. For the last 4 years they have been regulars at Up On the Roof at Brixton’s iconic Prince of Wales, playing alongside many of the scene’s biggest names including Dave Lee, Norman Jay MBE, Dimitri from Paris, Shapeshifters, Crazy P, Cj Macintosh and many more, while also co-hosting over 100 episodes of their fortnightly radio show on d3ep Radio network.

Heading their separate ways, Ian has been doing solo gigs, such as supporting Michael Gray at his new Sultra event, and has launched a very popular series of mixes on his Soundcloud page. We’re delighted to have Ian on the show, and we're sure you’re going to love his guest mix… it’s full of energy and a real mix across the house genres.

It was an absolute joy to share to share the decks, and a few beers, while covering some serious musical ground across the 2 hours .... we spun a completely off the cuff mix of stuff that we'd like to hear in a dark, sweaty, club... quirky electro disco, uplifting house, afrobeat, soulful house, nu-disco, 90s progressive classics and more! If there’s anyone who prompts the question “When does he find time to make that?” it’s serial editor and remixer Pete Le Freq. For more than 20 years he’s been reworking disco and funk classics as label boss of Alpaca Edits and Llama Farm Recordings, updating originals with a distinctive dance‑floor edge. His prolific remixes have been played by DJs worldwide — he’s a regular at Beatherder, made his Ring stage debut this summer alongside Utah Saints and Jaegerossa, and is a Mastermix remixer alongside Ben Liebrand, Sgt Slick and DJ S. He’s shared decks with Young Pulse, Michael Gray, Craig Charles, Dr Packer and Jo Whiley, and already has dates booked for 2026. 

Simply put:  he makes what he loves in the headphones come out the big speakers.
