Danny Kane has proved time and again that he's one of the nu boogie scene's greatest funksters. Now back on the block he joins forces again with Princess Freesia with a brand new single for Midnight Riot 'I Love The Way You Do'. As you would expect it’s a classic disco house party. The original mix, Danny brings his trademark sub bassline, melted with disco strings and heavy piano chords. Featuring sensuous female vocals from Princess Freesia it’s another smash through and through. Sweden’s finest Opolopo drops by to deliver another boogie masterpiece, adding hot guitar licks, spaced out Fender Rhodes, a squelchy bassline with a killer breakdown for total dancefloor mayhem plus an added full-length instrumental for those DJs who like to get busy in the mix!

Lux Experience – Disco Church EP

Norway’s Lux Experience throws the chapel doors wide open for the Hot Digits congregation to enter and marvel at the miracle of his Disco Church EP. 

Launching this ecumenical four tracker is the Heatwave-flavoured ‘My Disco Church’ - a groovy, four-to-the floor box cutter of a tune that grabs you by the boogie bone and doesn’t let go until you succumb to its charms. A solid, punchy 121bpm beat combines with slappy disco bass, furious bongo soaring harmonies announcing we are here to get on down. And that’s what we’re definitely here for. 

Track 2 is the pleasure inducing, brass tickling and tambourine tappin’ party starter – the simply titled ‘Muuvin’. Coming in at a deceptive 121bpm, Muuvin’ is one of those tracks that has you air drumming along to the beat whilst harmonising with the familiar vocals. A magnificent experiment in Brooklyn inspired funk, tight rhythms and dynamic soul. 

Track number 3 is the happy, clappy and seriously sexy ‘It Happens’. This one has a bassline so filthy you want to wipe it (and yourself down) with an antibacterial cloth. All shoulders and attitude, ‘It Happens’ is an up-tempo dance floor beast. It rolls, it bites and it growls. It bares its teeth to reveal a saxophone smile, leaving you trapped inside a Prince and Bootsie Collins combined fever dream from which you might never wake up. Outstandingly good from Mr Lux. 

Finally, we arrive at the slow-motion laser show of ‘Up Is The Way’.  The tempo is scaled right back for this final sermon from the Reverend Lux Experience. The almost sleepy and louche bass drum transfixes you from the off whilst slick guitar riffs and raunchy clav stabs do the heavy lifting for the incoming sassy, rolling vocal. Spellbindingly good stuff! 

The Disco Church EP oozes class from start to finish with four tracks that showcase the huge talents of one of Norway’s finest.  Lux Experience’s Disco Church is the broadest of churches and you’re all very welcome to join.

For more than 20 years he’s been reworking disco and funk classics as label boss of Alpaca Edits and Llama Farm Recordings, updating originals with a distinctive dance‑floor edge. His prolific remixes have been played by DJs worldwide — he’s a regular at Beatherder, made his Ring stage debut this summer alongside Utah Saints and Jaegerossa, and is a Mastermix remixer alongside Ben Liebrand, Sgt Slick and DJ S. He’s shared decks with Young Pulse, Michael Gray, Craig Charles, Dr Packer and Jo Whiley, and already has dates booked for 2026. 

Simply put:  he makes what he loves in the headphones come out the big speakers.
