As part of our regular Le Visiteur online Prince birthday celebrations this week, June 2020, I have been reflecting on the incredible genius like talent of Prince. His talent was extraordinary.  I have pulled together 20 of my favourite Prince Remixes, Edits and Tributes which are still available to stream. These span a broad range of styles pertinent to the musical ethos of Le Visiteur Online. From funk jams to disco gems, techno masterpieces to deep house classics. There are also a couple of excellent original tracks which channel the musical style of Prince.

As part of the search for these gems I put together this Soundcloud playlist of some of the best Prince related tracks that I found during my research.

On the A-side Whatever/Whatever (Justin Strauss + Bryan Mette) work 'Hold On' into a piano house stomper, and A Vision Of Panorama filters 'Take It Slow' through beachy balearic optics. On the flip, Greg Wilson & Peza layer 'Hold On' in driving nu disco vibes, with just a touch of acid, and JKriv takes 'Take It Slow' into deep future funk territory.

I am a big fan of The Eagles, so when the stems for this awesome track fell into my computer I just could resist... I had to rework it.

Australian Dave Mathmos, the master of smooth, soulful Disco Edits is a long time Too Slow To Disco recording artist and compagnon.
He recently returned for TSTD EDITS 15 with a limited 7!!! track double 10 Inch E.P.! But Dave Mathmos also was the artist of the first real TSTD EDITS EP, volume 03, the now legendary and completely sold out 2 tracker from 2019.
The E.P. (600 copies in yellow vinyl) sold out in a minute and up until today it is the most sought after release we ever did, with several million plays on the spotifyyoutubeapples.... Original copies are already selling for more than 50 Euros on discogs.
We got so many requests for a repress, we finally decided to do it

If there’s anyone who prompts the question “When does he find time to make that?” it’s serial editor and remixer Pete Le Freq. For more than 20 years he’s been reworking disco and funk classics as label boss of Alpaca Edits and Llama Farm Recordings, updating originals with a distinctive dance‑floor edge. His prolific remixes have been played by DJs worldwide — he’s a regular at Beatherder, made his Ring stage debut this summer alongside Utah Saints and Jaegerossa, and is a Mastermix remixer alongside Ben Liebrand, Sgt Slick and DJ S. He’s shared decks with Young Pulse, Michael Gray, Craig Charles, Dr Packer and Jo Whiley, and already has dates booked for 2026. 

Simply put:  he makes what he loves in the headphones come out the big speakers.
