The Runes Project is a continuation of what began as a high school garage band called "Runesword" back in the 1980's. David Gines and Eric Sisler had big dreams in the day, but skills and equipment didn't quite match the dreams. As is sometimes the case, the two friends got caught up in life, taking different paths and eventually lost track of each other.

Fast forward 30 years and the two old friends found each other on Facebook after both had been successful tech nerds and each had maintained their love for music.  Dave continued playing in various bands over the years but Eric had only recently picked it back up after playing in a few bands in the late 80's. They decided, "Oh, what the hell!" and began writing and recording together again. Influences are an eclectic blend of 70's classic rock (Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Rush) to 60's and 70's singer-songwriter (Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Don McLean, John Denver), to 80's Alternative (The Cure, Billy Bragg, U2, and others) and everything in between.  We hope you have as much fun listening as we have writing and recording, although we doubt it. :-)

I've worked in the music industry for quite some time now, writing music for TV shows, films, CD-ROM games and various recording artists..I've worked with influent Quebec composers such as Michel Corriveau, Raymond Fabi, Mario Sévigny on various TV and movie projects.
I've composed music for such companies as: Kutoka interactive, Microids,Circo de Bakuza,CINAR,among others. Through the magic of Circo and people who believed in my talent like writer/producer Tony Babinski, my music has traveled around the world from Toronto to Paris to Dubaï. I've worked on film and advertising music as well capturing a Genie nomination in the process. My production on more than 20 titles for Kutoka has earned me some accolades including the Applied Arts Magazine design & advertising annual (2003)
